Alone Yet Never Alone

43 3 6

Hearing seagulls cry,

Water crashing down,

Feeling the soft wind,

That blows without a sound.

Lying peacefully,

Underneath the sun,

Warm body on the sand,

Eyes closed against the fun.

Resting on the powder,

With waves and gulls and wind,

Not a single life around,

To break in on Nature's din.

The only one there,

In the sun on the beach,

The only one listening,

As Mother Nature speaks.

In the wind telling tales,

Of the sun and the sky,

The waves telling stories,

Of clear springs and cold nights.

But it's the seagulls that tell,

The best stories of all,

Of seashores and nests,

And of crabs and people.

They tell us the stories,

Of those lost at sea,

Of those coming home,

And of those in the reef.

They squawk up above,

Looking down on us all,

They see those who swim,

And those who play volleyball.

Then telling those stories,

While up in the sky,

Cawing and squawking,

People passing them by.

Lying alone,

Down on the beach,

Listening to stories,

While enjoying the heat.

Never being bothered,

Resting alone,

Listening to the tales,

And feeling at home.

Alone in the sand,

But not alone in the least,

Hearing the gulls,

While slowly falling asleep.

Hey y'all! :D Just for the record, I DO NOT like seagulls. Sorry, but I am always afraid that they will steal my food or poop on my head O.o

Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed the poem! :D
