We walked out the door without a word. The night air was brisk and cool feeling against my face the moment we hit the end of the short driveway.

"So where did you move from, Teagan?" His question catches me off guard.

"New York City. My mom and I moved there when my dad came here."

"Oh. Well I think you'll like it here." He smirks.

You have no idea, Shawn.

"It seems like a very nice place to live. The people are nice at least." This causes him to laugh.

"My mom and dad can be a bit overwhelming but they mean well."

"They seem lovely, Shawn."'

"Well you looked pretty scared out of your mind when you walked into the kitchen today. Your face was priceless." He pauses to let a small laugh out. "It was actually adorable."

A gigantic blush was now forming on my heated cheeks. Shawn evidently found pleasure in my reaction because he stared at me for what felt like forever. Damn those kids eyes sparkled. My heart was doing one of those "asdfghjkl" moments.

"T-thank you." I meant to say it confidently but it came out as more of a question than a statement.

"You're quite welcome, T. I'm gonna call you T because as beautiful as Teagan is, it's a mouthful to say sometimes."

We both laugh for awhile at his humor. This boy made my heart flutter. We sat in the grass of a small park starring up at the stars.

"You know, according to some people, stars are the strongest force of all. They shine even in darkness. When they don't shine everyone wonders where they are or where they've gone. It's sort of like people. When they break down to the point where they can't shine anymore, people wonder what's happened or where that light has gone."

"That was absolutely beautiful, Shawn."

Both our hands lay in the grass next to us, not touching, but still closer than I thought I'd ever be with a world known Vine sensation and upcoming amazing artist.

I contemplate his theory and find that he is 100% right. I struggled through depression and had a dark period in my life which made those simple words mean so much more.

His hand touches mine but doesn't pull away. He looks over at me as if asking for approval and I give a small nod as he grips my hand, intertwining our fingers.

Of course my phone rings, snapping us both out of our thoughts and star watching. "Life of the Party" blares from the speaker.

The look on his face is picture perfect. His smirk and the way he holds his head down to look at the blades of grass.

"It's my dad." I answer as I answer the device,

"Hey Teagan Faela. The Mendes's would like to know if you would like to join them tomorrow. They're going to a roller coaster park. Shawn will be there."

I answer to quickly with a "sure." This pleases my dad as he says he loves me and hangs up the phone.

"So Teagan Faela, huh?" Shawn's smirk is bigger than my social life.

"Don't." I roll my eyes and look down at the ground.

"Oh come on, T. Your name is wonderful."

He earns another eye roll from me with that comment. He grabs my hand with one hand and forces me to look up at him with his other hand.

"Honestly, Teagan. It's beautiful, you're beautiful. Don't think otherwise. Please."

I can't help but stare at him in awe as the words pour from his mouth.

"Shawn. Can I tell you something?"

"Anything, T. Trust me, I can keep a secret."

The courage inside of me got a little bigger as the next words left my mouth.

"Shawn I really like you. Like I really, really like you."

When he doesn't answer me right away I comeback with a "sorry."

"T we don't have the time to be sorry. Trust me, I like you too, I really do."

"That was the cheesiest but most relatable thing I've ever heard in my life, perfect timing to bring in your lyrics, Shawn. That was great."

"Welcome to my cheesy life, Teagan. Get used to it now because you're not leaving it."
