Previously on Here Comes the Sun:

I was sitting on my couch watching the ID channel when there was a loud, frantic knock on my door. I opened it to reveal Selena leaning against the wall panting. 2"Demi why don't you answer your phone?" I helped her inside and placed her in my previous spot.

"I turned it off for some relaxation, why? What's wrong?" I sat down next to her, rubbing my neck from the anxiety that was building up in it.

"I wasn't going to tell you because I wasn't sure if it was happening, but she's back." I started to say 'who' but that turned into an 'oh no' as realization hit.

"Dems.... Marissa's back."

Chapter 6 -

"What?" I gasped, unable to comprehend what my best friend just said.

"Mar-" She started to repeat herself but I cut her off.

"No I heard you, but why?" I put my head in my hands not fully comprehending what was happening. My heart was pounding uncontrollably in my chest, and I felt my stomach tightening. I wasn't sure if I was going to shit myself or puke but at least one of those was going to happen. Have you ever felt like your foundation was ripped out from under you? After you put so much work to rebuild it, it just crumbles. And mine wasn't strong in the first place. My breathing was becoming shorter and shallower, and my chest was constricting, I gasped for air that felt like it was never going to come, the world was spinning, I couldn't see a thing and- and everything went black.

"Demi, Demi wake up." A small gentle hand shook me awake and I blinked sleep away. I opened my eyes fully and saw Selena looking down at me. "Are you okay?" She placed her hand on my back and helped me up from my position on the couch, I think she layed me down.

"I think so, what happened?" I looked at my best friend and her eyes softened.

"You had a panic attack and fainted. You were out for a couple minutes." The memories came rushing back to me and I felt my heart start to race again. I rubbed my hands together firmly, nervously and rolled my neck to try and get the tension out. "Demetria Devonne Lovato, look at me." I looked up at my best friend and she grabbed my frantic hands and held them in her petite ones. "It will be okay. You have me, you have everyone on the show and you will be okay. She can't do anything to you. You have to remember to talk though okay? You can't shut down like last time." I nodded.

"I just want to sleep Sel, I have work in the morning." I laid my head down in her lap and let her play with my hair until I fell asleep. If she did it longer I had no idea, but my dreams were full of a darker skinned girl and frightening old memories threatening to take their place.

I woke up the next morning in the same position I was when I fell asleep. Selena was still there, and even though I felt the anxiety building up in my chest I choked it down and went to get ready. I put on my cutest outfit that I could think out at the moment, left a note for my passed out best friend on the couch, and left.

As I walked to call a taxi I played with the bangles on my wrists covering my old but most recent scars. Marissa hurt you like that Demi, even if you see her it won't matter. You are better than her, strong, and worthy of life. "I am beautifully and wonderfully made." I whispered. I heard someone running and panting behind me as a taxi pulled up. I went to get inside as someone grabbed my shoulder.

"Hey sorry I really need this taxi please move." A familiar voice belonged to the body that was trying to pull me away from the car. I turned around and looked my demon straight in the eyes.

"Sorry but I need it too." I gave her an icy glare, and she looked dumbstruck. I pushed her slightly back, sat down in the taxi and told the driver to drive.

What my luck that I see her now? She probably orchestrated this whole thing being the bitch she is. I couldn't help but feel this tiny feeling in the back of my heart that told me to hug her though. Tears pooled behind my eyes but I didn't dare let them fall. I cannot cry.

The driver pulled up at the studio and I hopped out throwing him a fifty. I walked into work and I put on my best fake smile. I saw Naya across the room holding a full flower vase and my heart leaped in my chest. She smiled at me, waiting for me to walk over and I smiled back about to succumb to doing it. My mind hardened though, these feelings are going to fuck me over. Seeing Marissa made me realize how much they have to go away, and I can't be around Naya until I'm sure they have. I will work with her, strictly platonic, and that's it. I saw Blake out of the corner of my eye and made a beeline straight for him and threw my arms around his neck. "Hey baby." I whispered and crashed my lips onto his. His lips moved with mine, and in the background I heard something crash that sounded strangely like a flower vase.

Naya has been avoiding me all day, I'm not really sure why but it's making my own plan so much easier. I have been burying all my problems in Blake, if you can even call it that. This technically probably is going to make my problem worse in the long run but for now it helps me. Better than my other, uhm, techniques. I was on my way to the bathroom when the lights flickered out. Over the loudspeaker I heard an announcement about a power outage, and it is pitch black. Shaking it off I continued walking until I was pulled into a... closet? "What is-" I was cut off with a pair of soft, cherry flavored lips covering mine.
