The island of Nova Scotia was silent in its blanket of white snow. This winter was very special to the animals of Nova Scotia for the rare full blue moon had arrived carrying with it the Pack, a group of shape-shifting creatures.

The Pack was only able to turn into humans and wolves on this planet, but they planned to live on this world anyway. The Pack was very peaceful and kind with a leader and Elders ruling them. But they were not safe on this planet; for there was the fear of a horrible prophecy.

The Prophecy said that the Pack would split in half and around one-fourth of the Pack would die from starvation, hunters, or the bloodiest war in the Pack's history. In the midst of the war, a pure-hearted wolf would rise up to reunite the Pack as a whole. But if this pure wolf somehow failed, the Pack would be destroyed; and the Darkness would rule.

The shifters were cautious when they left the comfort of the blue moon, but they knew that they couldn't stay on their old home because it was dying from the Darkness's attacks to the core of the planet.

Kato, the strong and noble leader of The Pack, was the first to reach the earth's surface. The moment he touched the ground the area was surrounded by a bright glow of blue. He immediately transformed into a white wolf with golden markings that symbolized his role as a leader.

Kato's eyes glowed golden as well, glancing around for any signs of danger. His ears twitched as he listened for anything, but all the animals were silent, respecting the powerful shifter that chose their forest for his new home.

Kato huffed, deeming the area safe. He then howled up to the blue moon for the rest of The Pack. Nadia, his graceful, wise, and hopeful wife, appeared by his side with similar golden markings on her white fur.

The other members appeared one-by-one. But Kato and Nadia were surprised to see that not everyone had a pure white coat. A few of the younger shifters that were famous for their rebelliousness were pitch black with blood-red markings and eyes that glowed blood red as well.

Almost immediately, the young dark shifters turned towards Kato and Nadia and jumped to attack them. Luckily, an Elder stepped in between and snapped at the young shifters. And many other shifters rushed over to protect their leader and his wife. Seeing that they were outnumbered, the young dark shifters rushed away into the woods.

Kato looked at Nadia and nodded to her. "My dear, it has begun."
