Hello my beasties! It's time for a new chapter of my Missi x reader story! In this chapter, we will be back with Duke and Sindera, and just incase you are wondering, yes, there will be a Volitaire song in this chapter! Actually two songs, one Voltaire(This song idea is credited to Darkestofhearts who used it for one of their stories!) one and one other one is one I really like! : ) (It's one by Rachel Rose Mitchell and it was suggested by one of my darling followers, Minouchiepie !)  Because we should probably have some romance stuff in this chapter, right?(Credits to Darkestofhearts for the Deuling voices chapter in their Duke x Luna book that help inspire this chapter!)

Shanti's P.O.V

Shanti was currently in the bathroom, changing the bandage on her wound from the night before. She'd managed to heal most of her wounds from the battle, but she had run out of energy so she had left the wound on her side alone for the time being.

Dear god, did it ever hurt, even if it had stopped bleeding!

Finishing with cleaning her wound, she looked in the mirror and sighed.

Why was she feeling this way?

Well, Shanti knew all too well why she was feeling down. After the argument she and Duke had after they had narrowly escaped with their lives from a creature she had never seen before, one that was extremely powerful and couldn't seem to die by any normal means........

Duke had gotten angry at her for distracting Curtis and risking herself in the process but what was she supposed to do? Let him get killed? No way! He should have been grateful that she had saved his skinny ass.....

They had been getting along pretty well so far, they'd even started getting close to each other, and she had actually started to feel something when she was around Duke, but now it was probably all for nothing now.

Then, she remembered the look Duke gave her just as she had turned around and uttered those words.

"I should have never trusted you Duke."

Her anger cooling, Shanti remembered that look guiltily. God, the flicker of shock that had coursed through his red eyes, and the look of sadness that had soon followed didn't help her feel better at all.

Sure, he had been infuriating(he always was on some level), and totally difficult, but she was realizing that she might of been too.  Now that she was less angry, she thought about maybe apologizing for what she had said.

After all, he certaintly didn't deserve to be hurt like she did. Maybe she had been too hasty with her judgement of the strangely charming vampire.

But even if she did apologize, would he even forgive her for what she had said? She sadly imagined the whole scene. If he never forgave her, it would just kill her. But then again if she was him, she probably wouldn't forgive herself either.

Just then, she looked out of the corner of her eye and spotted her sister, Desiree. There was a look of shock and horror on her sister's face and she was staring right at the now bandaged wound on Shanti's side, where she had forgotten to conceal it with her tank top.

Shit.

"Oh my god. What the hell happened?" Desiree asked looking worried.

"It's nothing-" Shanti started off but her sister cut her off.

"Yeah right. That is not nothing. You've gotten hurt! Did someone do this to you?" She glared at Shanti, the silence in-between them maddening. "Was it Keith?"
