It came out of nowhere. We didn't even have enough time to get out our weapons. Tiffany is on the ground unconscious or probably even dead. Now it's after me. It's coming for me and I am weapon less.

Okay, let's start from the beginning.

So, tiffany and I were just about to leave to go the 'Pact.' Yeah, I know it's a weird group name, but their story is super cool. They are this group of people who are known as the Gifted. Pretty lame name, huh? Anyways, they have a magical aura around them that attacks monsters. Cool, huh?

"We better get a move on." Tiffany said while blocking the sun from her face. "It's about one now and it takes five hours to get to the base so we better start heading off so we don't get the night."

"Why," I asked curiously. "What's wrong with night time?" Tiffany turned back to me.

"It's when our aura is the brightest, duh." She snapped as if I should've known.

"Okay," I said standing up while ignoring her rudeness. "Which direction?" She rolled her eyes. Wow, she does that a lot. I thought to myself.

"North-east. Past the woods and down the valley. Can we go now?"

I nodded as we started walking north-east.

I was so confused about Tiffany. One second, she is kind and understanding and the next boom! She's annoyed and rude like she is sick of my presence. I don't know what I've done wrong, but I just hope I can trust her, and in return gain her trust too.

As we continued on the dangerous journey ahead, Tiffany became cautious about our surroundings. She tends to stop all of a sudden and study the nearby bushes like an animal hunter.

"Where not alone..." She whispered. My heart banged against my rib cage at impossible speed. A dome of darkness flooded the sky turning day into night.

"It's already night?" I asked to tiffany who was frozen in fear.

"That's not the sky." She shivered. "That means..."

"Wha-"

"Be quiet." Tiffany whispered as we stood in silence. Her eyes were bouncing from one object to the next at great speed. "Get down"' Tiffany shouted as a fire ball went centimetres over my head, burning the tip of my hair. Tiffany pushed me on the ground as I my covering my head for protecting. Gun shots fired in my ears as Tiffany shot the fiery monster. She only bought us enough time to get our weapons out. My purple dagger glistened for battle. I could feel its power entering into my veins and giving me strength. The monster lunged. Its fiery red eyes followed me as I ran for safety. I couldn't see any details through the thick flames, but I could just make out what the creature looked like. She had blood red hair the flowed down to her hips. Her lips were as red as an apple and her eyes were as deep as the sun. She wore a ripped red singlet top and a ripped skirt. The monster walked bear footed and looked like a normal girl who was bursting into flames. Beauty shinned on the outside and the devil burned on the inside. The women laughed and shot a fire ball at the tree I was hiding behind. I turned around to see the tree melting away like metal put into burning lava. The women smiled. I squizzed my dagger tight with Tiffany right behind me with her green bow and arrows drawn out.

"I don't think this is fair." The creature hissed as her flames melted away. 'Now it's fair.' She smirked as the creature ran towards us. Tiffany fired the first shoot which aimed for her lower stomach, but the arrow just burst into flames and melted away into a pile of ashes. Tiffany kept firing more arrows, but they just did the same thing. The creature approached Tiffany and went for a head shot with her claws. Tiffany ducked under and did a left foot swipe making the monster fall to the ground. The monster rose back up to punch Tiffany in the face. Tiffany stumbled back with blood dripping down from her nose. Tiffany got out an emerald green dagger from her belt and sliced the creature's right shoulder. With rage, the monster slowly went ablaze as Tiffany had to stumble back because of the heat. The flames around the creature's body began to turn toxic green. Fumes surrounded Tiffany in like a shell. With all the air sucked out of the shell, Tiffany was forced to breath in the toxic air. She started to stumble. Her legs shook, and her skin turned pasty. Tiffany fell to the ground with a thud. The toxic shell got absorbed by the air giving way for me to see Tiffany lying on the ground motionless. I had no idea if she was unconscious or even dead. But I just stood there in fear not even able to blink. What was I doing? I was just standing there watching someone who helped me get killed by a monster and I wasn't doing anything. My fear rolled up inside of me. A voice Whispered inside my head. Leave her. Run away, save yourself and don't look back. But my heart spoke differently. I grabbed out my dagger and walked into the open.

'Hey, Flame head.' The fiery monster turned and faced me.

'Ah, you finally have the guts to challenge me. Well this will be fun.' As the fiery monster walked up to me I could just see my grave stone being made. It said, 'Rosetta King 2009-2023. Killed by a monster who was on fire by stupidly challenging her.' But there I was. Face to face with a human flame.

I rose my dagger up to my head and pointed the blade at her. She only laughed with the amusement of my courage. 'You dare think you can stand a chance against me. Well your even more stupid then I thought.' She roared, and fangs peered out of her mouth and claws grew from her hands. She pounced at me with her claws held high. I grabbed her wrist just before the strike and pulled her back. I screamed in agony. Pain rose in my right hand like I left my hand on a hot kettle for hours. The monster only laughed. 'Did you really think you can touch a flame and get no burn?' I fell on my knees with pain overwhelming me. The monster kicked me to the ground and held her foot on my back as her flames melted away. She pulled me up by my hair and her claws wrapped around my neck. 'Say "hi" to you dad for me.' I gasped for air and struggled to breathe. Her tight grip made her claws dig deeper into my skin. 'Not today Flame-zilla.' With such speed I grabbed out my dagger and dug it into her arm. She cried in agony as she released her grip. I scattered away.

'Oh, you are so dead.' With a blink of an eye. The flame girls' eyes went purple. The whole world began to slow down. Whispers rang through my ears. The voices sounded like my parents. My dad, Richard King and my mum, Melissa King. I saw my big sister who was about seven years old with her blonde hair always put in a high pony-tail, and then I saw myself about five years old with my usual piggy tails. The scene changed. I saw the day my mother left us. She didn't even leave a note. Her car was gone and all her stuff. She didn't even care. She didn't care that she had a family that loved her to death or a loving husband who would die for her! No, she didn't care, she just up and left with no goodbye. No text messages. No phone call. Or not even a note. I never forgave her for that. My dad was so heartbroken but inside I think he knew this was going to happen. I remembered my big sister holding me in her arms telling me it's going to be okay. The scene changed to the car accident only five months ago. My father died by the impossible. My sister lost at the scene never to be seen again and my mother will never even know that this has happened to us because of her own selfish life.

My brain began to boil like a kettle. I snapped out of my daydream to find myself lying on the ground paralysed. I couldn't move a muscle I saw the flame girl fighting with a shadow that produced water from its body. I must've been hallucinating. It was weakening the creature with its water forcing her the fall to her knees. It did one final strike and the flame girl lost her flames. She fell to the ground and burst into the thick black fog like I saw the Meonskie monster do after I killed it. Black dots danced in my eyes making my eye lids feel like cement. Just before I blacked out I saw Tiffany run up to the shadow and they greeted each other like they knew each other. Then everything went black.
