FORTH POV

    I took a deep breath before dialing Beam’s number and calling him.

    Pha had this great idea for me to invite Beam out to eat. Like a date, but I won’t say it’s a date because it’s not. You feel me?

    “Hey Forth.” Beam answered. I smiled at hearing his voice.

    “Hey. What are you doing later?” I asked. Beam was silent for a moment.

    “Doing something with you, I suppose.” He said. I laughed. He knew to well.

    “Sushi?” I asked. I heard Beam chuckle.

    “Sushi sounds good. Pick me up at the medical faculty?” He suggested. I smiled wide.

    “See you then.” I said.

    “Bye.” He said before hanging up. I smiled wide and started jumping up and down.

    Do I like him this much? I was suppost to be tough and have a bad reputation.

    When it came to Beam, it felt like I was a puddle of goo. Ugh. That sounded so romantic. Why was I like this? Why did Beam have to make me like this?

    I sighed and laid back on my bed. I had a “not date” date with Beam later. I had to get ready.

    What am I going wear? It’s just a Sushi place. I shouldn’t be like to fancy. Why am I acting like some girl going on a date? Beam, what have you done to me?

    After taking a shower and getting dressed I drove to the medical faculty. I knew Beam got out of class in three minutes.

    Not because I like stalked him to find out his schedule. Pha told me. That makes it not weird. Right?

    “Hey.” Beam said pulling me out of my thoughts.

    He was walking towards me, smiling. He looked so cute. I wanted to kiss him, right here, right now.

    “Hey.” I said smiling and opening the door for him. He smiled and thanked me getting in.

    I walked to the drivers side and got in.

    We sat in a comfortable silence the whole way to the restaurant. When we got there, Beam immediately ordered. I laughed at his eagerness.

    “You must be hungry.” I said. Beam nodded smiling wide.

    “I skipped breakfast this morning.” He said looking down. My smile faded. He skipped lunch?

    “Why would you do that?” I ask.

    He’s studying to be a doctor. He should know that breakfast is an important meal of the day. Why would he think it is okay to skip it?

    “It’s not a big deal.” He said shrugging. I sighed.

    “It is a big deal.” I said. I leaned forward and grabbed his chin to make him look at me. “Please don’t skip breakfast again. Call me if you want. I can come eat with you.” I said. Beam smiled and nodded.

    “Why are you being this sweet and nice? You’re never like this. You’ve changed Forth.” He said smiling wide. I didn’t get to say anything else before we were interpreted.

    “Forth.” Chai said walking up to our table. I smiled and stood up to give him a hug.

    “Hey, how are you?” I asked pulling back. Chai smiled and nodded his head.

    “I'm good.” He said turning to Beam. “Beam. You are another one of Yo's friends.” He stated. Beam smiled politely and nodded.

BEAM POV

    I know this kid.

    He is one of Yo’s friends from the Science Faculty.

    Pha was always complaining about him being too close to Yo, but I thought he was just over reacting. Now, he looked really close, to close to comfort, to Forth.

    “Yes.” I said. Chai nodded at me and turned back to Forth.

    “How did it go that night?” He asked. Forth laughed and looked down.

    “It actually really went really well. I didn’t do it with you, but i
I definitely got someone.” Forth said. Chai clapped his hands softly.

    Him and Chai were supposed to do something? Something sexual? I shook my head to clear the thoughts.

    “Are you here with anyone?” Forth asked him? Chai dropped his smiled and looked down.

    “No. I’m alone.” Chai said. Forth sighed and put his hand on Chai shoulder

    “Want to talk about it?” He asked. Chai looked back up and smiled again. He shook his head.

    “No. I’ve got to get back to my dorm. You guys have fun.” Chai said nodding to me and waving at Forth before leaving.

    Forth smiled and waved back before taking his seat again. The food arrived not long after.

    A comfortable silence fell over the table. After Chai left there wasn’t really anything to be said.

    My mind kept wandering back to the relationship between Forth and Chai. They looked like they had some history. I just didn’t know what kind and to what extent.

    Did he still have something with him? The looked pretty close with each other. They even hugged. Forth isn't really a hugger.

    I groaned internally. All these thoughts were driving me crazy.

    “Beam?” Forth called my name, pulling me out of my thoughts.

    I looked at him and smiled. He smiled back. God, he looked so cute when he smiled.

    “Hm?” Forth laughed.

    “I said, do you want to do something tomorrow night?” He asked. I smiled wide. The thoughts of him and Chai leaving me.

    “Movie?” I suggested. Forth nodded.

    “Movie it is.” He said.
