I can't belive it.
The house was packed. From corner to corner of horny teens grinding against eachtoher. Sweat trailed down the wall each bead racing the other to see which would make it to the floor first. The music chorused from one wall to the other creating a hum in mind that I'm positive will be there for months to come. Only five minutes in and I was already needing air and a drink. The atmosphere clammy and lacking of air.
I let my hand fall from Jeanie grasp and motion towards the kitchen. She nods. Continuing to stare in awe at her surroundings. I panic slightly when she doesn't make a move to come with me but go nevertheless, knowing she's trying to be normal for at least one night.
I stumble through the sea of teenagers before finally making it into the kitchen where it isn't so packed. My eyes lock with a pitcher that looks to contain water but as I lift it a voice stops me.
"straight vodka? Damn you don't look like you've got it in you" the voice comes from a brunette with honey eyes. She's smiling breathtakingly at me as she raises a perfect sculpted brow.
"Oh, yah I uh, I thought it was water"
And she barks out a laugh. It sounds like a horse winding up for pree neigh but surprisingly it still sounds beautiful. I don't realise I'm staring until she comments on it.
"take a picture it'll last longer"
And for some reason I do. I. Pull my phone from my pocket and snap a quick picture before grinning at her.
She looks shocked, having probably expecting me to become embarrassed or flustered but I keep as much of a confident facade as I can.
I grab a glass and make my way to the sink before pouring myself some water I can be sure is actually water.
I take a large gulp and turn back to the beautiful girl in front of me.
"what's your name?" I ask. Gulping down another quarter of my glass.
"Bree, and if you want a photo at least get the both of us in it so if you make it your home screen it won't look weird"
Little does she know it already was. Though I'd didn't say that. I'd only put it there so I could prove I'd gone to a party. Not that I had anyone to tell.
"ok" I shrug, maneuvering so my phone camera included the both of us and snapped a quick picture after pasting on a bright smile.
She let's out a pleased noise when she sees the photo before snatching the phone out of my hand and typing something.
"OK, I've added my number. Call me next time you feel like partying. There's this ice cream shop close to mine that's way better then alcohol"
How sweet I think to myself. But I don't really like parties and I'd like to spend time with you anyway.
"Sounds good to me, I'd much prefer ice cream anyway"
Jeanie would be proud
"I never got your name"
Thinking about Jeanie I can't help but wonder where she is.
"Harlow, I really need to see where my friends got to"
My hands are clammy again and my breath short. My eyes scanning the pool of people outside the kitchen door but I can't find her.
"Do you want help?" her soft voice reaches my ears and I gulp, forcing a smile and nod. I need to find Jeanie. But I don't want to leave Bree. So bringing her with me seems like the best option
