IMPURITY

a story of magical blood,

spilled and tainted

Kail Pooler

Acknowledgments

This is the part of the book that means more to me than all else. The people I'll be stating have all contributed a part into this novel, and without their help, this three year project would never have been completed.

It's been a very long adventure, writing Impurity. From 3 name changes, to a complete re-write (multiple times), to scrapping and editing, and scrapping again, Impurity has been the longest road I've taken. Without these people, I wouldn't have believed in the shining light ahead.

Dana Bell

Kyle Anderson

Bob Fishman

Cathy Droz

I also would like to put out a few author's names, whether you know them or not, who I was inspired by.

Gabriella Zevin

C.L. Gillmore

And a huge thank you to Owl City, who's beautiful music inspired a lot of my work. Rock on, Adam!

And, without further ado, I'd like to present to you three years of sweat, tears and cramped hands from typing and writing.

And so it begins...

Prologue

I was in a huge, amazing room. Curtains of sparkling purple hung from the sides, covering the edges of gigantic glass windows that looked out to a courtyard with a marvelous pool.

There were many children around the room; all of them in very nice clothing that should be on wealthy 30-year-olds than on what I thought were 13 or 14 year-olds. They were just teenagers, but I couldn't complain, as I was 14 on this day.

Girls were in prom dresses, cocktail dresses, high heels, full makeup. The boys were in suits, tuxedos, wearing luxury dress shoes, hair combed neatly, and it smelled like there was a whole lot of expensive perfume and cologne in the area.

I noticed one girl, far in the back, by the dual winding marble staircase, which was with a group of other girls wearing long fur coats and had all designer on them. Well, everyone in the room had on designer, but I mean full blown $50,000 for a pair of pants. That kind of designer.

My name is Kail Pooler. I am the son of Edmund Pooler and Ariana Pooler, the two wealthiest people in the Magical Kingdom, the world, and the Magicalia District, the dimension for Magical people. They fell in love in this very place, the best school in existence; the Magical Preparatory Academy.

This is the foundation for almost every Magical person in the universe. Every Witche, Wizarde, Alchemist, Sorcerer, Psychic, Brewmaster, Enchantress, Time Traveler, and Shape Shifter has all credit given to the MPA. You are teleported here at exactly 7:07 PM, and you stay here for 7 years and a day, learning every nook and cranny of Magic.

My father is the owner of over 7 different major-successful companies, each one having to do with the 7 Elements of Life:

1. Earth

2. Fire

3. Water

4. Air

5. Spirit

6. Darke

7. Lighte.

My mother is the owner of an impossibly fruitful clothing line, makeup line, and bookstore. The bookstore is the most successful of all of the businesses in the family. It's called Papyrus, and not only is it the largest bookstore in the universe, but there's the HQ right next to the Academy!
