//Fourteen — A Little Party Never Killed Nobody//
(I am sure that isn’t true)
Willa Van der Mariel
When, I got home, Mike was at the clinic, and Dave was still at work. So, Eldon and I had the house to ourselves.
“I’ll get the ice cream and you put on the movie” I instructed.
Eldon nodded, and leaped over to the living room. I pulled out a tub of ice cream, and left it out to melt while I found the magic chocolate which froze on the ice cream, and two large soup spoons. I toppled scary amounts of chocolate on the ice cream, and made my way to the living room where Eldon had put on what looked like Scary Movie 1. But suspicions were confirmed when the first scene came on.
I dropped on the couch beside Eldon, and put the tub of ice cream in between us, and passed him a large spoon.
“You know your the best sister in the world?” He said, and took a large scoop of the ice cream.I nodded. “I know, and stop eating it! The chocolate has to freeze!”
“But that takes forever” He groaned.“Uh, it takes three minutes, bum. Now, watch the movie”
Of course, I was shitting myself while Eldon was cracking up. Why he wasn’t scared was alien to me, I was a scaredy cat, and always jumped at the smallest gestures I didn’t see coming. I had seen this movie at least ten times, but somehow it still managed to make me jump. Averie had adored scary things, including horror books that made her come into my room at night from nightmares.
“STUPID BUT!” Shrieked Eldon at the t.v, although he was laughing his head off.
At that cue, my phone erupted and Eldon shot me a glare. Quickly, I answered, not bothering to check the caller ID.
“Hello?” I asked.“WILLA!” Shrieked a much too familiar voice. “I HAVE NEWS!”
I sighed, and got up from the couch, so I could have a very loud conversation with one of my greatest friends in history. She had done dancing lessons with Averie, and they had immediately clicked, and then she had kept coming over, and I joined in, and we created a little trio. Then, when another little girl came, who I knew very well, we created a foursome.
“It’s good to hear from you to Madelyn” I stated dryly, although I was amused.“Oh, shush. Anyway, I got kicked out of school” She said it so normally, it was like she was talking about her recent text message.
I nodded, and leaned on the counter. “Yeah, and?”
“I am being sent to school in New York! NEW YORK!” She fumed, and I could almost imagine her tanned little face in a bright red tomato.“New York?”
She huffed through the phone. “Ugh, in New York, there is Sebastian Lopez”
At this, I perked right up. “How do you know he is there?”
“Do you really want me to answer that?”
I was quiet for a second. “Uh, no, thanks. Anyway, have you told Asha?”
That was number four of our little group of craziness that kept me smiling.
“Not sure, haven’t spoken to her. Do you mind adding her into the call? I am using my home phone and it doesn’t have all that fancy crap”
I bursted out laughing, and quickly typed in Asha’s number. It rang for a second, before someone answered, but it wasn’t Asha.
“Hello?” Asked a male voice.
