as chaeyoung woke up, she rolled over to her side to notice the empty bedside that held no warmth. she looked over at the ticking clock to see the time was 8:00 pm. she sighed as she laid onto her back, wondering where chanyeol could be at this hour.
time began to pass and there was still no sign of chanyeol, the only sound that could be heard was the continuous ticking of the clock on the wall.
chaeyoung got up, walking to her drawer to put on some clothes as she grabbed her phone and went down the hall, pressing her thumb on the call button. she pressed her phone onto her right ear, listening to the familiar ringing. she waited and waited until she heard the voicemail. chaeyoung began to worry as she repeatedly tried to call chanyeol again, only to be sent to voicemail.
not knowing what to do, chaeyoung called jisoo. "yeoboseyo?" jisoo greeted although she seemed confused as to why chaeyoung called her at this hour.
"sorry, unnie, were you asleep?" chaeyoung questioned as she heard jisoo's yawn.
"no, i was just taking a short nap. is something wrong? are you calling for max?" jisoo questioned as she rubbed her eyes, trying to take away the sleep.
"n-no, i'm not calling for max, i'm calling you because i'm worried and panicking right now," chaeyoung confessed as she paced around the living room.
"why? what's wrong?"
"it's 11:32, and chanyeol hasn't returned."
"what do you mean?"
"i haven't seen him in the last 4 hours!" chaeyoung raised her voice in sudden panic.
"have you tried calling him?"
"yes, but it just goes to voicemail," chaeyoung confessed.
"hm...chanyeol could probably be with sehun. just relax."
"i'll try. bye," chaeyoung hung up as she tried to relax. the minutes ticked and she decided to call jisoo's brother, suho.
"h-hello?" suho greeted chaeyoung, confused at her sudden call. chaeyoung took note of the shouting in the background.
"is chanyeol with you?" chaeyoung questioned as she started biting her fingernail.
"c-chaeyoung?" suho stuttered as his voice suddenly got higher; a sign chaeyoung knew meant panic.
"yes, it's me, are you okay? you sound nervous. is everything okay? do you know where chanyeol is?" chaeyoung started shooting questions as the anxiety began to build up once again.
chaeyoung could hear suho sigh in distress, and she began to think the worse.
"i'm fine. everything is fine."
before chaeyoung could ask once again if chanyeol was with them, suho hung up.
