"What do you want?", Keya asked Zahra from the canteen counter.
"Nothing! Thanks.", Zahra said with a smile.
Keya settled down with orange juice and chocolate cookies on the cafeteria table.

"You won't have anything?", Keya asked.
"Nope! I will, Actually I live in a PG and the owner is an Indian, so she cooks delicious food and despite denying many times she always packs food for me. I have Aloo Paranthas!", she said excitedly offering her box to Keya.
"Thank you.", Keya said taking a bite but immediately her expressions changed.
"Oh my god.", she mumbled.
"What's wrong? There is nothing that can go wrong with these paranthas, they are my owner's speciality.", Zahra boasted.
"No..They taste like my mom's Paranthas.", Keya mumbled putting another bite in her mouth, she missed her mom so much at times.
There was a momentary silence.

"Anyways, the classes here are so interesting.", Zahra said with excitement in her eyes, breaking the silence.
"I know my class was pretty good too, except that idiot.", Keya said rolling her eyes in the end.
"Oh my god! Aarav is in your class?!", she said with her eyes big.
"Yes, like there is nothing that could be worse. He is an asshole.", she said sighing.

"That I am.", Aarav said taking a seat beside her.

"What do you want now?", Keya asked sternly.
"Who is here to talk to you? I came here to talk to Za-Zahra.", he said acting as if ignoring Keya.
"Y..Yes?", Zahra stammered again.
"Oh god! I am sorry, I really scared you didn't I? I just came in to say sorry for the morning. We really didn't want make you uncomfortable.", he apologised with a genuine smile.
"As if he means it.", Keya said under her breath.
"Heard you again! And yes we mean it Zahra, we are sorry.", Aarav said to Keya and redirected his eyes to Zahra.
"Friends?", he asked further extending his hands to Zahra.
"Firstly, more than me you were rude to K, so say sorry to her first and I am still not sure if I would want to be friends with you people.",Zahra confidently told to Aarav.

Keya smirked at Zahra. "Oh, the hothead has taught you to answer back to us.", he said looking at her.

"Whatever..", Keya said rolling her eyes.

"Softy, stop irritating her if she doesnt want to be friends with us, but I am sorry since the other tables are full, we will have to sit here itself.". Sam came down and threw over a sandwich packet in Aarav's face, taking a seat beside Zahra.
"Softy??!!", Keya teased laughing.
"Can you not call me that?! Atleast publicly?", Aarav scolded Sam in total embarrassment.
"Whatever!Anyways, Zahra is not a girl of your type and Keya is way out of your league. So any name is okay.", Sam said shrugging.
"Oh my god! You are amazing!", Keya said high-fiving Sam.
"Sameer Khanna, you can call me Sam.", he introduced.
"Glad to meet to Sam. How did you end up with him?", Keya asked pointing to Aarav.
"Well, its life shit happens.", Sam said nonchalantly.
"We are going to be great friends.", Keya said smirking.
"That we are.", he said smirking.
"Zahra do you know, in the first year of our bachelors degree, Sam went and told a 65 year old male teacher that he was fucking hot!", Aarav said laughing and smirked at Sam.
"Okay! Tell them that you tricked me saying that it was Amy and sent me to that room which had no lights!", Sam said flushed with embarrassment.
"Who was Amy?", Keya asked.
"Oh she was this super hot chick from my journalism class.", Aarav said like it was no big deal.
"Oh okay.", Keya said sipping on juice.

"Zahra, you don't speak much, do you?",  he asked with a hint of flirting.
"Just with you, because I am not interested.", Zahra said rolling her eyes.
"Come on, I am not a creepy psychopath.", Sam said rolling his eyes.
"I will get going I have to register at the library if I want to issue books.", She said getting up completely ignoring Sam.

"Za-Zahra, you are amazing, with his good boy looks and nature, there are rarely any girls who ignore him.", Aarav commented.
"Really? Then start getting used to it because you are going to face it a lot.", Zahra said leaving the cafeteria.

"Wow. I love her already!", Sam said sighing.
"Fuck! How do you people fall for this love at first sight shit?!", Aarav commented making a weird pukish face.
"Well, unlike you softy, some people actually have emotions.", Sam said rolling eyes.
"What do you think?", Sam asked to a rather distracted Keya.
"Huh!? Umm.. Sorry I have to go and register myself for the basketball team. Bye.", she said getting up.
"What do you mean? Like you will play sports?", Aarav asked choking on his sandwich.
"What is so funny in that?", Keya asked raising a brow.
"Well, I haven't seen much Indian girls playing sports.", he said shrugging.
"You are such a typical judgmental Indian male chauvinist!", she said glaring at him and then stormed off.
"Wow. I really like Keya.", Sam commented.
"Nakchadi kahinki!", Aarav said rolling his eyes.
"What about Zahra?", Sam asked making a face.
"Poore duniya mein tuhje ek Pakistani ladki hi mili thi?", Aarav asked mocking.
"How does it matter!? And how do you even know she is from Pakistan?", Sam asked,
"Remember that intern guy I am friends with in the admission department?", He asked.
Sam just nodded taking a bite of his sandwich.
"Name is Zahra Qureshi, from Lahore, Pakistan, has done BA with Litreature  Majors from Pakistan itself, a complete nerd she got all her reference books and subject books issued at once!", Aarav said rolling his eyes at the end.
"Creep! Thats too much information for the first time.", Sam said rolling his eyes.
"Wow.. I like how you say thanks", Aarav said sarcastically.

"Thanks man!", Sam said winking. He got up and went to the direction of library. _______________________________

"I miss you.", Keya said looking at a photo in her phone.
She was sitting on the bleachers of the basketball ground, waiting for the coach to come, to talk about her registration.
With the first important day of her, actual free college life, she missed a few people she could never bring back.
She straightened up and quickly wiped her tears looking around to see if anyone had seen her like that, thankfully noone.
"Keya Mittal?", a fit middle aged man asked.
"Yes. Coach Sebastian?", she asked and the man nodded.
"Have you got your registration form from the office?", he asked.
"Yes coach.", she said handing him her form.
"Okay lets see your practical practise, sort of an audition today, is that fine?", he asked.
"Sure. I will just change into my sportswear.", she said advancing to the changing rooms behind the basketball field.

The test went well and coach welcomed her aboard, he said she was pretty good, well she played at national level in her school days, she ought to be amazing.

Days here would be better for her, now the only thing was to find a job.
