JESENIA
CALIFORNIA – USA
The emotions flowing through me don't stop as his soft lips move gently but demandingly against mine. My hands run through his curls as I return the kiss, still in shock by his actions. His hands grip onto my hips tightly, almost painfully as if he can't let me go. I relish in the feeling from his touch, a touch compared to no other. My entire world stops turning when he deepens the kiss, leaving me breathless once again.
Unfortunately, all good things come to an end as Marcy's words ring through my head. 'You need to stay faithful... You know what happens if you don't' I pull away, a sinking feeling grows in my stomach. "Stop... we can't do this" I whisper in a breathless voice.
"You've got that right" a low voice mutters from behind Marcel. My head snaps up faster than the Flash, and I instantly meet a livid Marcy. I turn my gaze to Marcel again, whom is looking confused as if he didn't hear what Marcy said. "Marcy" I reply warningly and watch Marcel spin around to face him. He pushes me behind him protectively. "What's the problem?" Marcel asks in a hesitant voice.
I grip onto his lower arm, trying to get him to back down. His gaze doesn't leave Marcy's, in fact it only hardens. "I thought we were clear on the situation Jesenia" Marcy says coldly. I almost shiver at the use of my full name, he's never used it before. "W-we are, Marcy" I desperately insist. I try to walk past Marcel, but he blocks my view from doing so. Letting out a frustrated sigh, I run my hands through my messy hair.
"You know what happens, I don't want that for you" he continues, even though I still can't see him. "I won't..." he's cut off by Marcel's harsh tone of voice. "What are you talking about? What happens?" Marcel steps back, letting me come into full view as he switches his gaze between me and my old friend. I purse my lips and look up at Marcy uncertainly. "You haven't told him?" Marcy asks ridiculed and lets out a scoff. "And you expect him to trust you after that?" My heart clenches at that.
Swallowing the lump in my throat, I look up at the man who just gave me the best feeling in the world and try to come up with an explanation. My mouth opens and closes several times, before he lets go of his patience and speaks up. "What's going to happen?" Marcel whispers and reaches out to grab my hand.
I pull my hand away from his, not wanting to make the situation worse. I've done the worst thing I could ever do. The guilt inside me builds up even more. "If I don't stay faithful to my Azatelia..." I trail off feeling tears well up in my eyes, not wanting to continue. He takes a step back, as if realising what I'm about to say.
Marcel shakes his head dismissively. "No" he starts and looks up at me expectantly. When I don't say anything he continues, "No!" Marcel looks down at the floor whilst he runs his hand through his thick curls. "Not happening, I'm not losing you" My head slumps down towards the floor as I start fiddling with my fingers. "It's what happens to all Lycans if they aren't faithful, I'm sure you've read about it" I say in a low tone, feeling more and more guilty by the second.
I can't let it continue, as it would endanger us all even further. Before he can protest any more, I stalk towards the end of the hall where Marcy is standing. "Thanks" I say sarcastically when I pass him. "Nini, you know why" I hear him say in a knowing voice, making me halt. "Yeah, I know why, but I just want to be happy. Dying after over a thousand years wouldn't be so bad, everyone's time comes eventually. I can't contribute to the race anyway" I reply sadly.
Marcy nods stiffly and starts walking towards me. He places a hand on my shoulder, grips it gently before walking away. Looking up again, I'm met by Marcel's penetrating gaze. My breath hitches into the back of my throat as he starts stalking towards me, determinately, never taking his eyes of mine. It doesn't take long until he reaches me, and when he does he places his hands on my cheeks. "Do you really think that way about yourself?
