The Return of Grief

"Hange can you help me reach Titan's food!"Levi asks from the kitchen.The auburn in the living room giggles and gets up to help Levi. "I'm coming short stuff."she teases earning a tch from the ravenette. Hange walks in to find the former captain standing on a chair reaching for the dog food and giggles more. "Quit giggling shitty glasses and help me!"he snaps and she reaches up and grabs the dog food. "There you go."she sings and walks back to the living room sitting next to her sleeping boyfriend. "Erwin wake up."she whispers shaking him softly. "TITAN! MONETI! COME AND EAT!" Levi yells waking Erwin up and his blue eyes look worried as he looks around confused.

 "What happened?! Is everything ok?!"he asks Hange. "Everything is fine Levi is just calling for Titan and Moneti."she explains and on cue Titan their beloved Great Dane runs by causing Erwin to laugh. "He's a pig."he comments and Hange smiles. 

Soon enough they hear meowing and Hange looks to the left of the couch to find a gray kitten stuck in the blanket. "Here kitty kitty!"Levi calls again and Erwin gets up to help the poor kitty. "If you would quit thrashing about maybe you wouldn't get stuck."he tells him softly and frees the hungry cat. Moneti then meows to Erwin before running to the kitchen. Erwin soon follows his stomache growling. 

"Good morning Levi."Erwin greets as he passes by him and Levi nods his greeting while reading paper and sipping on tea. Hange soon joins with their other cat in her arms. Levi sighs as he looks at them.

 "Hange.."he says softly and puts the paper down. Hange looks at him her eyes sad. "I know Levi...please don't make this harder."she pleads and Erwin remains quiet. "If it helps I'll go with you.."Levi suggests and Hange nods. The cat in her arms lets out a weak meow. Levi then gets up to pet her his eyes watery. "You lived a good life Isabelle.."he whispers and gently takes the ginger cat out of Hange's arms carefully. "Erwin are you sure there's nothing more we can do?"Levi asks turning to look at him. "No..but putting her down is the only option now."he tells them knowing he has already told them this before.

15 min. later

"Alright I'm gonna inject it now..."Erwin tells Hange and Levi. Hange nods and Levi just keeps petting the cat tears spilling as he says his final goodbyes. "I-I love you Belle."he sobs using the nickname he has given her. After what seems like forever she stops breathing and Erwin checks. "She's gone.."he says softly. Hange hugs Erwin crying while Levi touches his head to Isabella's sobbing. 

Eventually Hange and Erwin hug Levi and mourn the loss of their beloved cat. "Can we bury her next to the roses? She always loved laying there...."Levi asks when he finally has calmed down. Erwin nods and Hange smiles. "That's perfect."she whispers and together they head to the backyard to bury Belle. Titan and Moneti follow and lay together by Belle watching their owners dig. When the hole was deep enough they turn around to find Titan has his body around Belle and Moneti.

 Moneti was softly licking Belle's fur and meowing inbetween. Hange,Levi and Erwin couldn't believe what they were seeing. Their dog and cat were also mourning the death of a fellow family member. Levi then picks Belle up and places her in her grave softly. "She looks like she's sleeping..."he comments his voice breaking and Hange places a hand on his shoulder in a comforting way as they watch the earth cover her and out of their sight.

Meanwhile across town

"Hunter and the Potatos are in position."a young boy says in the walkie talkies as his friend next to him giggles at their code name.

 "Alright Cowboy and Horse are heading in your direction with the birds."a male responds. "Hunter to Potatoes what is going on?"another male asks. 

"Cowboy and Horse are heading in our direction with the birds."Potato 1 reports giggling. After waiting 5 minutes a voice is heard on their walkie talkies. "THIS IS HORSE THE BIRDS ARE FIGHTING BACK! WE NEED BACKUP!"the voice yells and fighting can be heard in the background. "Horse we are sending in Red,Coconut and Yellow what is your location?"a voice asks and there is no response.

 The blonde figure growls then turns to her comrades. "Red...Coconut and Yellow go find and help them..."she orders and the three named figures nod and leave quickly. "....We can't lose more people.."the blonde figure whispers and looks at the ones who have stayed in their hideout with her. Most were wounded from fighting,or sick.

I know the chapter was abit short (like Levi) and emotional but hey I hope you liked it. It has been forever since I wrote fanfics. Who is this mysterious blonde figure? Who are Hunter,The Potatoes,Horse,Cowboy,Red,Yellow and Coconut? Find out in the next chapter!
