||TWENTY-THREE||

FORTH POV

    I was laying on the bed when I heard the door open.

    I jumped up and ran to it. Beam was standing there taking off his shoes. When he seen me he stopped.

    “Your still here?” He asked. I nodded.

    “I had to make sure you’re okay.” I said in a soft voice. Beam took a deep breath.

    “Did you ask him to come over?” He asked. I scoffed.

    “I would never do that.” I said shaking my head. Beam wiped what looked like a tear off his cheek.

    “How can I be so sure? Before me you slept with different people every other night. Now, some guy who’s small and nice looking comes to you. How can I be so sure that you’ll reject him?” Beam asked.

    Another tear fell from his cheek but he didn’t wipe it away this time.

    “Beam.” I said walking up to him. I reached up and caressed both of his cheeks, wiping his tears away. “I already told you. Before I met you, I was a wreck. I had never had a stable relationship. I had never loved anyone. I spent almost every night of my life alone, or at the bar drunk, or with someone random. Everything changed after I met you.” I told him.

    Beam kept crying. He sucked in a deep breath and I continued. “When I’m with you there is something there that I can’t explain. Something more. Something I've never felt with anyone. Not with Yo. Not with some random. Especially not with Chai. Beam, I don’t just love you. I’m in love with you. I’m not gonna risk something so important to me for some kid I barely know.” I said. Beam let out a shaky breath, full of emotion, and looked me in the eye.

    “You’re in love with me?” He asked. I nodded and pulled him into a tight hug.

    He tried to pull away but I wouldn’t let him. “Forth, I can’t breath.” He said. I tangled my fingers in his hair.

    “I’m in love with you.” I repeated. Beam stopped struggling and grabbed on to the back of my shirt, hugging me just as tight as I was him.

    “I’m in love with you to.” He said.

BEAM POV

    I am in love with Forth.

    I wanted to be with him more than anything in the world. I felt like my heart had actually broken into pieces when I saw Chai kissing him. I didn’t know how to react so I ran. I didn’t want to face him. I couldn’t.

    I was surprised when First started making a confession and saying he’s in love with me.

    Never in a million years did I think that we would ever be in this situation. I never thought that I would be saying that I'm in love with him as well.

    I pulled back from the hug and stood on my tiptoes to kiss him.

    “Why was he here?” I asked. Forth side and rubbed the back of my hand with his.

    “He wanted to be with me.” He confessed. I sighed and nodded.

    Chai needed to learn who Forth really belonged to. Me.

    “Let’s go.” I said grabbing my keys and a hoodie. Forth looked at me confused.

    “Where are we going?” He asked. I picked up his jacket and threw it at him.

    “Call Chai. Tell him to meet you at the science faculty parking lot.” I said walking out the door. Forth followed and grabbed my arm.

    “Beam, what is going on? Are you ending this with me?” He asked. I shook my head and laughed.

    “Forth, I'm not ending anything with you. I’m letting Chai know who you really belong to.” I said kissing him. Forth smiled and nodded.

    In the car ride there, Forth called Chai and told him to meet him where I said.

    When we arrived Chai was already standing there. Forth sighed and looked at me. I leaned over and gave him a quick kiss before getting out of the car.

    “Chai.” I said. He turned around and the smile he was wearing faded when he seen me.

    “Beam?” He asked looking at me confused.

    “I have one small problem.” I said using my fingers to show him. “Here’s the thing. Forth isn’t into you. Forth never has, never was, and never will be. Forth is mine. Forth loves me. Forth is in love with me. I think it’s better if you were to just back off while you still have the chance to walk.” I said making sure he understood what I was saying. Chai laughed and shook his head.

    He walked closer to me and got in my face.

    “If he likes you so much than why did he kiss me?” He asked. I was really getting tired of the smug look on his face.

    I don’t know what came over me but my hand formed a fist and, somehow, accidently came in contact with his face.

    He fell to the ground and held his cheek. He rolled around on the ground and groaned.

    I heard the car door open and close. Forth ran up to me and held my arm.

    “Beam. I thought you were just gonna talk to him.” Forth said. I shrugged.

    “He provoked me.” I said. Forth laughed and kissed my head.

    “Let’s go home before you break your hand or something.” He said pulling my arm. I nodded and followed him to the car.
