Alaska's POV
"Babe, don't be mad at me now"
Conor reaches his arm out for my hand but I ignore it and cross my arms over my chest instead.
"What the fuck do you expect then?!"
Mad was an understatement, I was pissed. How could he possibly just think that rebooking our anniversary to another day would be okay?
"I expect you to be civil about this and act like the adult you are for goodness sake!"
I sigh, holding back the tears that threatens to fall any second now.
"It's our fucking anniversary Conor! You promised"
He pulls his fingers through his unstyled hair, avoiding my eye contact. He had in fact promised to be all mine today. That we would celebrate together and do things we usually never got time for.
"I know baby, but they literally asked me to do it an hour ago and it's for charity. It's not like we can't do the things I promised another day"
"You could've said no"
Sighing does he look down at his watch, he should've left a while ago but this argument had taken longer than expected.
"This is getting ridiculous now, Alaska come on"
I bite my lip, deciding to just leave it for now, being angry wouldn't make this situation better anyway.
"Look, I'm really sorry okay. I understand that you're disappointed but you have to see it from my perspective as well"
My heart breaks from him saying that even though I know that it shouldn't. These things happen, it's nothing I can do about it and I just gotta pick myself up and act as if it all fine.
"It's fine, just leave"
He looks at me with uncertain eyes as I turn around in the kitchen, continuing to wash up the dishes that had been left by Jack and his brother last night.
"Als, don't do this to me. I warned you when we got together that this could be a problem"
I dry off the plate aggressively, placing it down on the shelf in one of the cupboards.
"Look, I give you 364 days to do whatever you want. I let you go away over Christmas, I even allowed you to go on tour on my birthday. One day Conor, one single fucking day that I want you to prioritise us, and you just act as if it doesn't mean shit to you. Don't come here and say that I should adapt to you when I'm the smallest burden you've ever had to carry"
Even I was shocked hearing me say that but my god did it feel good. Conor just stays silent and I can tell he's shocked as well.
"That's it, you can go. This day is already ruined anyway thanks to you"
He nods, and even though it looks like he's about to say something for a second does he ignore it and just turn his back on me, leaving the flat without saying a single word.
It hurt seeing him go but in some weird way did it feel good to have finally put my foot down for once.
***
"Yes?!"
I pull the headphones off my head when I hear the front door opening. It's way too early for the boys to be back so a worry instantly starts growing inside of me. To my relief it's only Mikey paying me a visit.
"Well what do I see here?"
He sinks down next to me on the sofa, crossing his legs in an attempt to make himself comfortable.
