Mike's POV
I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock, blaring.
I grumble over to it and slap the snooze button, but as I'm there, I check the time.
6:59. Damn it. I could've slept for one more minute.
I throw the covers off of me and start walking downstairs.
"Hey, Mike." My snobby sister, Nancy says. "You excited for another year of misery, with your dorky friends?"
"Shut up." I groan, waking to the pantry.
I grab myself a granola bar, and run back upstairs to avoid Nancy's bickering.
I rip it open, and start choosing my clothes, which doesn't take long.
I throw the pair of pants on my bed, while my shirt landed on the floor.
I'll pick it up later. I think to myself.
I run to the bathroom to brush my teeth, hair and wash my face.
I walk back out, change into my clothes, and text my friends.
-
me: good morning!lucas: are you ready for the first day of school?
dustin: yeaaaah im not😂
me: what ever, i should get going😬
-
I click my phone off, and run downstairs.
"Goodbye, Mike!" My dad smiles.
"Mike's leaving?" My mom turns from around the corner. "Let me get a picture!"
"No, mom. No pictures." I say, putting my shoes on, as fast as I can.
"Let me get my camera; you stay right there." She smiles.
I roll my eyes and make my way to the door, letting a muffled 'goodbye' escape, as I close it.
I walk out, and shield my eyes immediately, as the sun is burning my face.
I sigh, and whip out some sunglasses from my back pocket.
I put them on, while a notification pops up on my phone. It's a message.
-
lucas: has everyone left their house?dustin: yep. im already here!
me: omw
-
I slide my phone back in my pocket, as I see the sun rising on my school building.
I run up to the school doors, and see my Dustin, Lucas, and... Max.
Great. Why does SHE have to be here?
But, that's not all. There's also someone else; someone I've never seen before.
I approach them all, happily.
"Hey! I missed you guys! Oh, and... Hi, Max." I frown.
She rolls her eyes and walks away.
"Hey, how was your summer?" Lucas asks.
"Good, but, it felt really short." I reply.
"I agree." A small boy huddled behind Dustin says. "I'm Will. Will Byers." He smiles.
"Mike Wheeler. Don't wear it out." I mumble. He sticks his hand out, but I ignore it.
The last thing we need is another party member.
