The Letter

Chapter 1

"Callie" I yelled through the woods trying to find where my best friend ran off to. I listened trying to hear a sound that could help me find her but I didn't hear anything. "Callie stop playing this isn't funny" I turned my hearing aid up as loud as it would go and that's when I heard it, it was the sound of something heavy hitting the usually quiet calm water. I immediately remembered that there was a bridge right up the path in front of me. I ran as fast as I could while praying that she wasn't that thing that I heard hit the water under the old tall bridge. "Callie where are you" as I continued running I closed my eyes for a second trying to hold the tears back. When I opened them again I was at the bridge and that's when I saw it Callie's brand new white Vans were sitting there in front of the opening that we made years ago by accident and next to her shoes was a slip of paper under a brick. "Very funny Callie I see what you're doing and this isn't funny I swear when I find you I will get my revenge for this prank" I cautiously walked to where the letter was, I then removed the brick and began to read it. My heart stopped "Isabelle you have always been there for me when I needed you You have always been so important to me and you tried so hard to prevent me from hurting myself and I want to thank you for that because for a while I forgot that people could be cruel and abusive in many ways I love you Isabelle but I had to do this I felt as if I wasn't important to you I'm very sorry". "NOOOOOO!" I screamed and collapsed to the ground where I was standing. I began crying and that's when I saw it under the bridge Callie's body just lied there lifeless yet somehow she seemed to be looking directly at me I sat there in shock not knowing whether to cry or to scream whether to run or stay I managed to get the words out that were in my head "w-why did you do this Callie you were the most important thing to me"
