"Jinyoung you can't keep doing this!! I never see you anymore and you're hurting your health!"
"Mark, I'm working for us!! Helping us get by! We need money for the wedding and money to pay the bills and money for poor Jisung. We adopted a child without even being stable financially, Mark. I'm doing what I can."
Mark heard crying and sped over to their son's room, seeing their three year old on his bed, crying as he clutched the brown teddy bear he got on his 1st birthday.
The boy looked up at his "mom" and cried more, reaching his arms out. Mark quickly went over and picked up the boy, rubbing his back as he sobbed into his shoudler.
"Daddy~ I-I had a nightmare that A-appa l-left~"
Mark's eyes teared up and he hugged him tighter. "Appa isn't leaving. Appa is gonna stay right here with us." Jisung sniffed and looked up. "R-really?" Mark nodded. "Yes sweety. Come on, let's get you back to sleep."
Mark started to lower him onto the bed, but he clung on tighter. "L-lay wit me?" "I'll lay with you in a bit. Daddy needs to talk with Appa, okay?" Jisung nodded and finally allowed himself to be tucked into bed.
When Mark walked out the room and into the hallway, he saw Jinyoung leaning against the wall head down as he sniffed. Mark started to cry as well.
"Jinyoung... You being gone for days is affecting Jisung, too. Please, I'll get a job and work a few days and you can cut your hours amd work only a few days as well. Please, Jinyoung... This can't continue.. You've had to go to the hospital too many times from passing out. Take your health into consideration... Jisung can't just never see one of his parents.."
Jinyoung kept looking down and nodded with a sigh. "Okay.. I will. I'm so sorry, baby." He walked over and wrapped his arms around Mark's thin body, pulling him closely to his chest and Mark sobbed into his shoulder. Jinyoung pressed his lips against the top of Mark's head. "I'm so so sorry, baby.."
After hugging for awhile later, Mark pulled away and wiped his tears. "Just.. Promise you won't do this again, please?" Jinyoung nodded. "I won't." And Mark would later come to know that he kept that promise.
Mark walked into their shared room and grabbed a pillow and blanket, giving it to Jinyoung. "I... Want to be alone for a bit.." Jinyoung took the blanket and watched Mark walk back into their room and close the door.
He sighed before moving over to the couch and laying down.
Mark on the other hand was lying in the bed, alone and cold as the usual warmth from behind him isn't there.
He hears the door creak open and small feet pitter patter over to his bed. He hears a small whisper. "Dadda. You said you'd lay with me. You look tired though... So I came to you!"
Jisung crawled up the bed and into Mark's arms. Mark immediately wrapped his arms around the boy and Jisung smiled before falling asleep. Mark smiled as well. "I love you, Jisung. Sweet dreams." He said before falling asleep also.
Waking up early in the morning, 6:00 to be exact, Jinyoung stood from the couch and stretched, feeling his bones crack.
He went to the kitchen and started to prepare an American style breakfast for his fiance and son. After making it and putting the plates on the table, he got a call from his boss. "Where are you right now?!" Jinyoung looked at the time, and then to the room where his fiance was sleeping. "Sir, I'd like to change my hours."
He walked inside the room and his heart melted as he saw his son, tucked under his fiance's chin as they slept. He slid in the bed behind Mark and wrapped his arms around the two, nuzzling into Mark's hair.
Mark woke up feeling a warmth behind him and smiled seeing the other arm rubbing Jisung's back. "Good morning, Jinyoung." "Good morning baby. I made breakfast for the three of us."
Mark leaned his head back to look at Jinyoung. "Don't you have work?" He sighed. Jinyoung just smiled and kissed his forehead. "I called and changed my hours. Now I only work from 9 to 5 three days of the week." Mark grinned. "Guess that means I need to find a job."
Jisung started squirming and slowly opened his eyes, rubbing them with his small fists. "Morning Dadda. Morning Appa." After saying that he froze and looked at Jinyoung. "Appa?" His eyes watered and he crawled over Mark and onto Jinyoung.
"Y-you don't have work?" Jinyoung smiled gently and felt bad for not being around as often. "Not til tomorow munchkin. And I promise it isn't for too long." Jisung grinned. "Yay!! More Momma and Appa time!"
The two parents chuckled and Jinyoung picked Jisung up. "I made breakfast. Let's go eat, yes?" Jisung opened his eyes wide. "You cooked again!? When Dadda cooks something burns.." Mark blushed and looked away. "W-well he wasn't there so I had to improvise.." Jinyoung looked at him with a gentle smile. "Well, that's gonna change from now on."
After they ate, the two parents sat on the couch as Jisung played on the floor. Jinyoung looked over to Mark and pulled him into his arms. "I really am sorry, baby." Mark smiled and held his face. "I forgive you."
They smiled at each other and gently pressed their lips together. They pulled apart when they heard a soft "ew!" Looking over, they saw Jisung sitting there with his nose scrunched cutely.
"That's ewie Dadda and Appa!" The two parents looked at each other before bringing Jisung on the couch with them and tickling him and kissing his cheeks. He squealed and giggled loudly.
They stopped and Jinyoung held the two of them closely, Jisung sitting on one of both their legs. Jinyoung smiled.
"My two most favorite people in the world."
