“Hey BF, where did your De la Salle cousins take you last night? ” Jerry asked while plonking himself down on the sofa bed next to her bed. “The girls were all agog with jealousy. They're sorry now they were mean to you. Maybe you’ll get an invite to be their BFF now.”
“Jer, I don’t care about fake people. I’m still tired. We went to dinner with family and met up with their friends to dance the night away. I’m glad curfew is early. I don’t think they stopped until the early mornings.”
“So! Are you a party girl and rich kid after all? And are they really your cousins?”
“Why do you ask?”
“They sure don’t act like cousins. More like possessive boyfriends. I am sure though that you will not tolerate two timing and they seem like close friends themselves who won’t share a girlfriend. What’s the real deal?”
“Actually, I’m the poor relations. I do have a rich beneficial uncle at home though. He supports my studies as well for this school. He introduced me last Wednesday to distant relatives then to strengthen our bond and provide me some immediate protection here if I need it. Be it a medical emergency or such things. So yeah! It won’t be an incest if I hook up with Jake or Russel. It won’t happen though. We’re not destined for each other.”
“You never know!”
“Don’t say these truths to anybody else. Let the girls drool. They are not my close friends and do not get special offers from me. Jake or Russel may not want to hang with me since their obligation are done.”
“I’ll bet you otherwise Sky. You get a call for a date within this week.”
“Huh! Did you forget my 4 year plan for my 5 year course? How would I do that? This is a welcome party. The end party will be after 4 or 5 years.”
“Yah yah! Aren’t we going to plan the east ender party for tomorrow night? The west wing girls totally rubbed the noses of the freshies from the east wing saying that they are going out and partying for the whole weekend.”
“Hey Jer did I mention that I came from a Hacienda with 300 + people. We gather frequently and I’ve been planning and cooking a party since I was 10. We could plan for 50 or so girls. Make that 80 with maybe 30 boys from the east wing. ?They are in the same position. I also have this single condo unit same as you, you know. As well as Vince so I guess we can afford some extra. Is it possible that we can all of us pool a minimum amount and have an okay party? ”
“No, it’s not. If you ask me to arrange it, we can pool a minimum amount of money and have a FABULOUS party!”
“Smarty pants! What do you propose?”
“I can make a list of really nice easy to make favourite menu. You gather all those interested to get together for Sunday at 1-3 pm meeting in the east wing canteen. As we are going to cook there, I’ll scout this morning for decor, utensils and party items we may use. This afternoon we decide and buy ingredients tomorrow at the latest.”
“Why not buy right after the meeting? That way we can cook already tonight.”
“Good thing I partied last night. A cousin’s friend’s relation is a food wholesaler. I will give him a call to negotiate a discount.”
“Wow girl, the first day we met, you’re talking lessons. After a week you’re starting a business already. What do you plan after graduation?” chuckles Jerry.
“Give me peace this morning If you want, right down your favourites and I will sell it as an easy to make menu. I just need a sandwich for lunch as I ate a lot yesterday.”
