Book 2: Chapter 2 Can We Talk?

Cyko recognized the person he bumped into, and he couldn't say a word, not even a peep or a squeak. They couldn't help but look and stare at one another, because of how surprised they were to see each other. Was it really him? How was he here? What did he tell to the cops for him to be here? Didn't he go to the hospital? How long has it been?

"Can we talk?" the smaller male asked nicely and innocently. Cyko was shocked that the boy wanted to talk after what he did to him. What did he want? Was it closure? Reassurance? Empathy? They both wanted answers from one another, and they didn't really have much to do. Why not?

Cyko and the boy walked back into the cafe and decided to order coffee. Cyko ordered a venti carmel frappuccino with non fat coconut milk exactly 2 1/2 cups of sugar with 4 chocolate drizzles, 6 1/2 pump of caramel drizzle, 3 expresso shots mixed in Extra whip cream, as well as birthday cake pop mixed in with a bit of strawberries on top, chocolate flakes, pump of vanilla, one pump of hazelnut, banana slices mixed in, chocolate shavings coating the bottom, cinnamon dolce and just a pinch of matcha powder, and the boy order a regular black coffee.

Cyko stared at the boy while drinking his frappe and couldn't help but wonder what he wanted to talk about, or what his reason was for coming back to the cafe. As a matter of fact, didn't he already have his food and drink? Why wass he sitting down drinking coffee?

"Why did you come back to the cafe?" Cyko asked him with a whip cream mustache on his upper lip. The boy looked at him and snickered a little and gestured that there was something on Cyko's lip. "What? Something on my face?" Cyko said trying to look down at his lip and licks them, making the boy blush. "What's your name anyway?" Cyko asked, still trying to get the cream off of his lip.

"Kaio.. My name's Kaio."

As time slowly passed and the coffee's were gone, then Kaio finally asked what was on his mind. "Why did you do it?" Cyko looked at him with a confused look as to what he was talking about. Kaio blushed and twiddle his fingers nervously as if he were thinking about that night again. "Why did you... Do that to me instead of just breaking the mirror bef-" Cyko raised his hand as if to silence him and looked at him, gazing deeply into his eyes, hypnotizing him.

"To distract Jacob and the others. I had to make them think I was enjoying it.." Cyko said, still looking him in the eyes, wanting Kaio to understand that it was not out of pity, or fear, or just to do it. He needed him so he could create a diversion to break the glass and get the hell out of there.

"Did you enjoy it?" Kaio asked again, blushing even more. Cyko broke the intense gaze and looked away blushing. They both sat in silence for a while, ignoring one another's gaze. "I... I don't know what I felt ok?" Cyko said with a defeated sigh. He shook his head slightly and rubbed his face harshly, trying to forget what happened that night. But that night was something no one can forget.

"I understand... I honestly felt the same way." Kaio admitted that he, too,  felt exactly what Cyko felt, or at least he thought he did. "Not knowing if you liked any of it, or if you were scared straight out of your mi-" "I wasn't scared... Someone like me doesn't get to be scared" Cyko interrupted. "I haven't been scared in years. People fear me, kid." Cyko leaned back onto his chair, giving off a negative feel to the atmosphere, and it made Kaoi very uncomfortable.

"Almost everyone in this city knows my name, and quivers in fear just by hearing it be mentioned. The famous gacha summoner him/herself had fear in their heart. Even creator Luni had issues with me!

"Well I don't fear you."
