Same Lame Name

Chapter 4:

"Totoo? Weh? Date date ka diyan. Nilibre ka lang date na. Tapos anong kinain niyo? hotdog? Sapakin pa kita diyan." Sabi ni Colleen.

It's now monday. 4:00 in the afternoon. Ngayon ko lang kasi nakita 'tong babaeng 'to kaya ngayon ko lang nakwento. Ewan ko ba kasi kung saan saan nagsusuot.

"Masama na bang mangarap?"

"Oo! Masama! Lalo na kung alam mo namang hindi matutupad!"

"Thank you for that great piece of advice." Sarkastiko kong sabi.

"Well thank you my dearest best friend."

"Lie..." Pang-aagaw ng atensyon ng bagong dating na si T. Lie, short for Norelie. How'd he knew my nickname? Or kasi masyadong obvious na Lie naman ang nickname ko?

Tinaasan ako ng kilay ni Colleen.

"Colleen. Hihiramin ko muna 'tong kaibigan mo." Uhm. Bakit siya nagpapa-alam kay Colleen? Hindi ba dapat saakin? Atyaka hiram?

"Sure. You can have her anytime you want." Agarang pagpayag ng aking magaling na kaibigan.

"Of course. Of course I can."

"Pwede mo na siyang kunin." They're having a conversation on their own na parang wala dito yung pinag-uusapan nila. Just, wow!

Hindi na naghintay ng sasabihin ko si T nang bigla niya na akong hinila patayo hanggang sa parking lot.

"May pasok pa tayo." Ani ko. Pansin kong hindi parin niya binibitawan ang kamay ko.

Hindi ko na ipapaalala. Haha. How naughty of me.

"May meeting ang teachers."

"Say's who?" Taas kilay kong tanong. Eh wala ngang nag-announce sa room eh.

"Me." Maiksi niyang pahayag.

"Really?" Napapantastikuhan kong tanong sakanya.

"Yeah. Nakasalubong ko yung president. Sinabi niya sa'kin."

"Ah, kaya pala."

"Get in princess." Saka niya binuksan ang passenger's seat at nagpunta sa kabila.

"Haha. Opo." Did he actually called me princess?

"Seatbelt please." He leaned close to me saka kinabit ang seatbelt.  I felt my face heatened.

Pinaandar niya na ang sasakyan. Dumaan kami sa south wing kung saan walang nagbabantay. Malayo pa kasi ito sa mga school building kaya bihira rin ang nakakapunta dito. Iilan lang rin ang nakaka-alam ng daanan. No one dared to take this path. Puro puno kasi ang paligid tapos madilim pa. At isa pa, may legend tungkol dito ang school. I also read it in the library.

The 'Flower'.

     Mari is a beautiful maiden that lived in a peaceful place called Echi. She was named after a white flower that seemed to glow because of the mysterious beauty it holds. The flower was known to symbolize purity and faithfulness. Everyday, you would see young men from their place lined up outside their house just to see her beauty and to court her. But she never liked anyone. Until one day, a fine man from a far away place arrived. He was easily captured by the intoxicating beauty Mari held. The two fell in love and decided to live in the young man's hometown. Little did Mari know that the man only wanted her because of her beauty and for show off. What broke her heart most was when she found out that her husband goes out with different women. But she was really in love with him. One of the women named Prin fell very jealous of her. A night came when her husband was out doing his 'business', Prin sneaked inside the house and poured a bottle of liquid on Mari's face. Mari woke up in the morning. She felt so devastated as she saw her face on the mirror. Her husband found out about it and left her for Prin. Because of the extreme heartbreak, she ended her own life and hanged herself, not knowing about the little angel that was formed inside her.
