Chapter 1

Carly pov:

I was walking up to my house after school and I opens the door to see my mom making dinner.

"Hey mom, what's for dinner?"

"Oh hi sweetie, I'm making pasta with crunchy bread"

"Oh yumm!" I said while jogging upstairs

I went into my room and I grabbed my phone to see the time but then I saw that my best friend Lilly texted me.

Lilly- hey girl! can u come over today?

Me- hey! maybe I'll ask

After I sent that I ran down stairs to ask my mom.

"Hey mom can I go over to Lilly's house for a little bit?"

"Sure honey just be back soon ok"

"Ok bye!" I grabbed my skateboard and skated to her house because we don't live that far away.

-ding dong- the door bell rang when I pushed it

Lilly opens the door "hey Carly!"

"Hey!" we both hugged then went inside her house

"Sorry my room is a mess haha"

"Oh it's ok my room is the same" we sat there gigging for a little and then my phone started to ring...

"Hello?"

"Hi this is the police department, is this Carly Moore?"

"Yes...."

"Ok well I'm sorry sweetie but your house Burnt down and we lost your mom..."

There was a pause before I started to tear up

"Sweetie are you still there?"

"Yes mam I'm here.... can I come to the house"

"No but I'm having someone pick you up and bring you to the hospital ok"

"Ok thank you" after she hung up I was balling my eyes out

"Carly what happend!" Lilly look worried I think she saw me turn pale white.

"M-m-my house b-b-burnt down a-a-and my m-m-my mom died" I said trying to not cry.

"OMG CARLY!!!" she started crying with me but then the door bell rang and I had to go.

"I have to go to the hospital so bye..."

"Bye Carly I'll keep you in my prayers!"

I went down stairs to see a stranger that worked for the hospital so I followed her into the ambulance and we started for the hospital. what am I going to do now? my life is ruined.

I was at my moms funeral and it was my turn to speak.

"Umm hi everyone.... I'm Carly and I miss my mom dearly..." I tried to hold back tears

"She was the best single mom ever and I love her so much and....." I started to cry and I just ran off the stage balling my eyes out

While I was running I heard footsteps following me.

I looked back to see my old friend Caleb

"Carly wait!"

"Why! why should i!" I said in a mad tone

"Because Carly I feel so bad and I don't like see you like this" he grabs my arm and pulls me in for a hug

"What am I going to do Caleb!?" I said while crying into he shoulder

"I don't know Carly I just don't know..."
