Comfortable silence - Testbulb

Test tube stood under a pine tree watching the rain, a few shivers running down her body due to the cold.

She held her hand out awaiting small drops to fall into her palm. As she predicted, of course it would.

She brought her hand closer and examined the water in her hand moving it side to side to watch the liquid sway.

Then she felt someone bump into her slightly, they apologize quickly after.

-"Aha ha ha, sorry Testy," It was Lightbulb. She was one of the more quirky contestants on the show, Test tube never understood her before.

But, after the time travel incident, she and Lightbulb grew closer. Lightbulb often wanting to hang out with Test tube.

Lightbulb really had a thing for nicknames, the girl gave practically everyone she met one, it was kind of cute.

-"Oh, no worries Bulby?" her tone went from casual to questioning near the end, she wasn't sure what she was going for with it. The two of them stared at each other before bursting into giggles. -"So anywayyy~" Lightbulb continued shifting closer to Test tube -"What's the story?" She looked at Lightbulb getting a bit wet droplets of water hitting her, noticing this she decided to pull Lightbulb closer into the small space of dryness under the trees leaves.

-"Nothing of importance really, just observing the rain." She said as she let go of her. The two sighed as silence fell between them. It was a little awkward, one of them needed an icebreaker. -"Hey Testy-" Test tube looked over at her once again. Studying her face and getting lost in her eyes, she'd hate to admit she did.

Lightbulb waved her hand in front of the other snapping after a few seconds. -"Test tuube~" Test tube blinked snapping back to reality. -"Huh?! uh- wh. What is it Lightbulb?" Lightbulb let out an airy chuckle, her warm breath creating a small mist eventually disappearing. Lightbulb continued, -"Where do lightning bolts go on dates?" The test tube was confused "-Wha- but they can't-"

Lightbulb shushed her

-"Let's just say they can" She smiled slightly. Test tube looked at Lightbulb again a tint of blush on her cheeks. -"Okay, Where do lightning bolts go on dates, Lightbulb?" she awaited her answer. Lightbulb continued -"To cloud 9!" they laughed a bit and sighed.

-"I have one" Test tube said, nudging Lightbulb a bit. Lightbulb brought her attention to Test tube. -" Okay, Okay. If you have been observant, any time prior to raining candy-" She stopped for a moment getting ready to say the rest of her joke. -"It sprinkles!" Lightbulb stood there for a second processing what she had said -"Oh- OOoohh. I get it." they laughed a bit and both began watching the raindrops.

-Y'know, Testy. These drops are pretty n all," Test tube looked off onto the foggy horizon "Yeah-" Test tube liked the sound of rain, it's all very soothing to her. -"but-" Lightbulb stopped herself and Test tube looked over to her. "Not as pretty as you! Ayyy" she began finger gunning. Test tube realized what Lightbulb had said and became a blushing mess, covering her face "Gah, Lightbulb-" She looked away hands still covering her face making her voice a bit muffled
"Hhh- uh the- thank you Lightbulb" Lightbulb nodded patting her friend on the back.
They both relaxed, Test tube eventually showing her face

-"This is kinda like a date, right?" Lightbulb laughed nervously, looking away from Test tube probably regretting the observation.

Nervous, Test tube could only mutter out a few sentences -"I uh- y-yeah if you... If you wan- uh want it- would- I mean TO Be- if you-" Test tube stuttered. Lightbulb held Test tube's hand essentially shushing the blushy mushy mess she appeared to be. "Yeah, it'd be nice if it was a date. I'd like that" Lightbulb said sighing a bit. They sat there for a while in silence but, rather than awkward it felt- it felt comfortable, yeah comfortable silence. Lightbulb gave Test tube a peck on the cheek as they stood there, the rain now calmly making it's way down the trees leaves making soothing pitter patters
it was nice, comfortable silence.
