I touched the polaroids on the wall. They were hung up neatly in rows. I felt another teardrop fall down my cheeks. Quickly, I wiped them away. My phone pings again, snapping me out of my thoughts. Grabbing my phone, I looked at the notification. Another text message from you.

I sighed. "Put your phone down," Bailey scolded. I nodded my head, silencing my phone. I looked at the wooden floor and started to fidget. A single tear escapes as another memory haunts me. This time, I don't even bother to wipe it.
"Kaycee, if you love him, then talk to him," she continued, "I have been dealing with your emotional state of mind for two weeks and that boy is still messaging you. Plus, you read his messages and never answer him!" I started to murmur incoherent words.
Suddenly, the phone rang. Bailey walked towards my table and picks up the phone. "Yes, I'm coming home soon. Stop calling me!" Bailey shouted. She ended the call and picks up her bag. "I'm sorry, Kayc. My mother insists that I go home now," she whined. "See you on Friday," I muttered. Bailey comes over and hugs me. "When I come next week, you'd better be happy. I just need to see you smile. A smile that is not forced," she warns.
As soon as she leaves, I lie on my bed and take a trip down memory lane.
Precisely one year ago, Sean asked me to be his girlfriend. It was at the airport when was leaving for Asia Camp.
"Kaycee, stop crying. I'll be back before you know it!" Sean consoled me. I sniffled between words, trying my best. "I'm gonna miss you," I sobbed in his arms. Sean hugged me tighter and muttered words trying to comfort me.
"Kaycee Caitlin Rice, will you be my girlfriend?" I looked up and froze. "Are you being serious?" I stammered, not believing a word he said. Sean nodded and smiled nervously. "Is that even a question? Yes!" I shouted. Sean pulled me into a hug and sighed in relief. "Let me put this on you," Sean said. A necklace that had a symbol on it. More like a letter 'S'. I looked at him in awe. "Thank you," I said. "I'll miss you. I'll be back as soon as you know it," Sean reassured me.
I remember the night he came back, we talked about life at my house. Staying up to 3 a.m was not a good idea. The next day we woke up, I was the grumpiest person to ever live.
Those memories together forever haunt me. I clutched the necklace in my palms before setting it down onto the tabletop. I sighed and took the sleeping pill next to me. I needed sleep. I needed to be alright.
