Pawprints were printed in the snow, wind blew gently, leaf-bare was here. The clans were scarce on prey, Cats were getting sick, but they knew they would do everything they could to survive.

A large, sleek, well-muscled, spiky-furred, dark gray-and-white tabby tom with grey patches mottling his white face, large, wide white shoulders, sharp amber eyes, hefty paws, and a long tail, sniffed the air as three other cats. "ThornFang, you might want to take a look at this" A small, skinny, white furred tom with black patches splattered on his fur spoke, waiting by a fallen tree that acted as a bridge for the RiverClan cats when they wanted to walk across the river. Turning around, ThornFang looked at the tom, his amber eyes narrowed. "What's the problem, NightWind?" He asked. Only receiving an unsure look from nightWind

Crossing the tree, ThornFang and NightWind jumped down from the other side of the fallen tree.  One cats stood by the river. The golden tabby she-cat flicked her ear as she heard someone approaching. Her Amber eyes landed on the two toms who came over to them. "Oh, finally! ThornFang, come quick" The She-cat told him, padding over to the river. NightWind and ThornFang exchanged glances before following her. They both went over to her side once the reached the river, what they saw was shocking.

The whole River was frozen, from bottom to top. ThornFang stared at the river, his eyes glued to it. Suddenly, he glanced at NightWind then at DaisyPetal. "There's nothing we can do about this. We just need to find some other prey to hunt. But for now, let's head back to camp and report this to DrizzleStar" The deputy told the two. "Yes, ThornFang" Both NightWind and DaisyPetal said. Together, the three cats had made their way back to camp.

Riverclan cats were busy as ever in camp. Warriors and apprentices were busy fixing up the dens while some went hunting for the clan. The medicine cat and his apprentice were in and out, making sure their stocks of herbs were full for this leaf-bare.  Thornfang, Nightwind, and Daisypetal arrived back in camp. Before thornfang went over to the leader of the clan, he looked at the two cats. "NightWind, Go help out the other warriors with the dens" he ordered. "Yes, ThornFang" The Black and white warrior dipped his head. He turned around, bounding over to the dens to help out his fellow warrior friends. Thornfang watched him go before he turned his attention towards Daisypetal.

The golden-like she-cat stared at the deputy, his amber eyes locking onto hers. There was a moment of silence until thornfang spoke. "Go make yourself useful" He grunted before running off to Dripstar.
Daisypetal sighed. "Yes thornfang...." She muttered before she went to go find something to do.

Riverclan was busy all day, now that it was night, everyone had fell asleep. Excpet for two. DaisyPetal rested in the warriors den, she had thought she was the only one up until she heard movement. The she-cat closed her eyes immediately, listening to see who it was.
ThornFang stood, stepping over the sleeping cats in the warriors den. He made sure no one was watching him before he ran across the clearing, leaving camp and disappearing into the shadows of the forest.

DaisyPetal opened one of her eyes when everything was silent. She had caught sight of ThornFang's tail disappearing out of camp. Confused, she stood up and ran after him but made sure to stay out of sight. 'Why is he out at this time of night?' she thought to herself as she continued following the deputy

DaisyPetal was crouched down beneath a bush, watching ThornFang as he glanced around. She thought she was about to be caught but thanks to starclan, the tom kept kept walking. Stepping from behind the bush, Daisypetal bounded after him but, Thornfang was moving faster than before. Unexpectedly, he had disappeared. DaisyPetal looked around, confused. "Where did he-" "What are you doing following me?" A deep voice interrupted her. The she-cat spun around, her fur bristling in surprise. ThornFang looked at her. His eyes held no expression. Some cats thought he had no emotions by the way he looked.  "Well?" He grunted, waiting for an answer.
DaisyPetal stood straight up, chuckling nervously. "Me? Uh...I wasn't following you.  I was....searching for prey!" She spoke, hoping what she said sounded believable.
But ThornFang knew better but decided to play along. "Oh really?" He muttered, seeing daisypetal nod. The two stood there in silence until the sly deputy made a move. He padded closer to her slowly in a menacing way. He began circling her, their fur brushing against each other as he did.

Daisypetal stood there. Her heart thumping against her chest. She watched him, feeling flustered.
"Daisypetal....do you know how dangerous it is to follow someone at this time of night?" He asked her. Daisypetal Stared at him but before a single word could escape her mouth, she stood face to face with the deputy but of course...he was slightly taller. He leaned closer to her ear. "Curiosity killed the cat..." He told her, smirking a bit. The way he spoke made her melt inside, her tail swayed side to side as she listened to him.  "I wouldnt want you to get hurt" He said before backing away from her, giving her the personal space she needed. "Now, run along back to camp. I'll be there shortly, after a check the borders" She told her.

DaisyPetal stood there, processing what he said before she had nodded to him then ran off, leaving the smirking tom cat behind.  Daisypetal felt her cheeks burn up but she shook her head. "Something about him isn't right. He's hiding something but.....I don't know what to do" She said to herself before sighing.

ThornFang watched the she-cat disappeared from his sight before he turned around and disappeared into the shadows, where he went as a mystery to all
