Chapter Twenty Two
The Trade
"I prefer to stand." Sherlock said, glaring at Moriarty with pure venom and bitterness."Sherlock? Sherlock is that you?" John's hoarse voice called out, he was being held in the other end of the room by Sebastian behind Sherlock's back. John's head was still being covered with a bag.
Sherlock nearly winced at John's voice, he shut his eyes and clenched his jaw. John's voice hurt him more than any physical pain he'd ever been through. Moriarty chuckled at this and motioned for Sebastian to take the bag off of John's head. Sherlock refused to look back at John, knowing it would practically kill him and consume him further in the pit of guilt he was falling into.
"Don't ignore him Sherlock, he's missed you." Moriarty said smirking, knowing he had won and nothing nor no one could possibly stop him now, his plans were rolling along quickly and efficiently. Sherlock let out a breath and opened his eyes, which looked almost red as if he'd been close to tears.
"Do you want the information or not?" Sherlock said, his eyes narrowing at Moriarty. He clenched his fists unconsciously, the blood draining from his knuckles causing them to turn white.
"Spill it." Moriarty said, obviously more than pleased with himself and his plans. He'd defeated Sherlock and the detective's crushed face was nearly awarding enough.
"The ship, the TARDIS, is alive just like you said. How Rose- the girl opened it was entirely out of luck. If you want to open it, you'll have to tear open the console bit by bit and release it's soul. Which will be no easy task." Sherlock said, knowing he was giving Moriarty all that he needed. The Doctor was not his friend and he didn't matter, nor did this ship. John was all that mattered and this was for John.
"Sherlock! What the bloody hell are you doing?! That ship can't be meddled with!" John shouted at him even though his voice was hoarse and weak.
"John," Sherlock said, his voice was firm and harsh. "Shut up." John didn't understand that Sherlock was doing this for him, that Sherlock felt sick to his stomach for saying that to him. But again, John failed to understand.
John gasped, the man in the trench coat was not his friend. It was the cold hearted machine he'd met when he first laid eyes on Sherlock. "You'll never get the TARDIS Moriarty! Rose won't let you, they're gone and far away from your insanity." John spat at them furiously."Just let John go, I gave you what you wanted." Sherlock said through his clenched teeth, trying to ignore the sound of betrayal in John's voice.
"Seb, let him go." Moriarty said, sounding bored. Sebastian released John with a push, making John stumble and nearly fall from his already weak state. "I feel like I'm watching a soap opera or something, you two are soooOOOoo dramatic!" Moriarty chuckled and stood from the chair he'd been sitting in.
John didn't run towards Sherlock, he stood halfway between Sherlock and Sebastian, unsure who was really the foe was. Sherlock was an emotionless, human computer making the wrong decisions, because Sherlock didn't understand.
"Johnny boy, I hate to disappoint you- actually no I don't- but you're absolutely wrong." Moriarty smirked and Sebastian showed John a video of Cybermen surrounding the TARDIS and capturing it on his iPhone. "I already have the TARDIS. Oh, and all the information I need to strip it off what I want. Tearing it apart and saving all the good bits, and dumping the rest in a scrap pile. Same for the Time Lord, he's got some interesting stuff about him too." Moriarty chuckled and smiled sinisterly.
"No...no!" John yelled furiously, running to charge at Moriarty but someone stopped him. Sherlock. "Let me go, Sherlock. You bastard, this is all your fault!" John said, his voice was like a million knifes stabbing at Sherlock's heart.
"John, we're leaving." Sherlock said, his voice wavering from his cool collected tone and dragging John out with him who was putting up quite the struggle.
"I'll be seeing you soon, Sherly." Moriarty cooed after them.

Rose slammed the TARDIS doors behind her, "Doctor!" She said, her heart pumping from the panic that was starting to spread throughout her.
"What, what is it?" He said, his eyebrows pinching in confusion.
"Cybermen, we're surrounded!" Rose felt her heart start to pump, fear trickling from her mind into her heart causing the change in beating. Rose reassured herself that she was with The Doctor, the most clever man she had ever met. He could find some way to get out of this. The Doctor's eyebrows furrowed and he put a hand to his chin, thinking. The Doctor's brown eyes flashed to Rose, his pink and yellow girl, and he knew he had to protect her. He had to think of Rose and her safety, but the Cybermen were also part of his responsibility. Well, he didn't have to do anything about the Cybermen and they both knew it. He could whisk away with Rose and let things carve their own way through history. But he was The Doctor and he couldn't simply let that happen.
Rose's eyes met with his and her panic was buried away as she smiled at him softly, knowing whatever he was thinking she would follow him through it. His hand fell to his side and The Doctor smiled back at her tenderly. They started walking towards each other, both needing one reassuring hug but their plans were thrown askew when The TARDIS shifted and began tilting over, throwing them against the wall.
