Before Jungkook (BTS/Harry Potter AU)

Partners in Crime • Jimin and Taehyung

2 years before Jungkook.

(Later on, when Jimin talks to Taehyung, dialogue in italics is him speaking Korean.)

"Chim, wake up."

Jimin opened his eyes to see his best friend, Taehyung looming over him, shaking his shoulder. He blinked a couple times, unable to process what was going on.

"Yah, Tae how did you get in here?"

Taehyung, unlike Jimin, was not in Hufflepuff house, but somehow managed to get into the dormitories to wake Jimin up for who knows why. A smirk appeared on Taehyung's face after hearing the question, mischief very visible in his eyes. Jimin sighed.

"Oh yeah, I told you the password. But what are you doing here?"

"Let's go on adventure, Chim!"

The slightly younger boy's eyes gleamed in the moonlight. Jimin sat up and rubbed his eyes, knowing he wouldn't be able to refuse Taehyung if he wanted to. In victory, Taehyung pumped his fist in the air, childishly pulling at Jimin's arm to help him get up.

"Hurry, before the prefects see us!"

Jimin grabbed his robe and followed Taehyung out of the dormitory, loud snoring heard from the common room. Tiptoeing down the stairs, Jimin looked at the sofa in front of the flames, which were burning low, almost to embers. He recognized the floppy brown hair, and decided to usher Taehyung along before Taehyung could get a glimpse. They would definitely get caught if Taehyung woke Hoseok Jung up.

Outside the Hufflepuff common rooms keeping guard stood Taehyung's friends, Fred and George Weasley. The two were twins, and they had befriended Taehyung in an instant, the trio always in a bit of mischief and trouble. Jimin almost fainted, knowing if he got caught, Hufflepuff house would definitely lose points, which he had greatly contributed to already. Lost in thought, Jimin was brought to his senses when the twins spoke in unison.

"We're going to explore some secret passageways."

And in that moment, Jimin knew he was doomed.

The passageway the twins and Taehyung had decided to explore was dark and clammy. After receiving only giggles and inaudible replies after asking where they were going, Jimin clung to Taehyung's arm, very frightened. Instead of making fun of his friend, Taehyung felt a little bad for dragging Jimin along. Jimin was obviously terrified, his sleep deprived state making everything worse.

"I'm sorry, Jimin hyung. I should've let you rest."

No response. Taehyung looked over in the dimly lit room to see Jimin with his eyes squeezed shut, holding on desperately to his best friend's arm. Looking around, Taehyung immediately spotted the problem.

Jimin absolutely, without a doubt, was terrified of spiders. It just so happened that while Fred and George were figuring out the next puzzle in the passageway, Taehyung and Jimin stopped next to a large spider's web. On the verge of tears, Jimin silently hoped the adventure would soon come to an end so he could go back to sleep.

Up ahead, a soft cheer and the sound of a high-five echoed off the walls, signaling the twins had figured out the puzzle. The doors swung open to reveal a corridor with many portraits of different foods. All four boys looked to the left and right to determine the coast was clear, silently filing out and letting the passageway close itself.

"We've been meaning to show you this, Tae," Fred said as he walked to a portrait with a bowl of fruit.

"Ah yes, art in it's purest form," Taehyung said sarcastically, glancing over at Jimin, who was still attached to his arm. He gave Taehyung a weak smile and looked back at Fred and George. Jimin was pale and a little sweaty, and Taehyung hoped he was okay.
