Chapter Two – Matt’s POV still
I hear a steadyish beep coming from somewhere on my right side, I open my eyes slowly, feeling sluggish.
“Oh good, you’re awake… For now.” The last part was muttered, I guess she didn’t think I’d hear her.
“What happened to me?” I ask barely above a whisper, my throat feeling like sand paper.
“You have a lot of internal bleeding, honey. We’re really not sure if you’ll make it or not. But we do know that you’ll wake up and drift out again. You’ve been doing it since you were brought in a week ago.”
I shake my head. “So it’s more than likely I’m not gonna make it right?”
She gives me a questioning look before slowly nodding her head. “Yes, we are pretty much thinking and waiting for you to just not wake up again.”
I nod my head slowly. “So if I gave the okay, you could give me something to make this less painful, and let me die in peace?”
She again slowly nods with a questioning look on her face before I continue. “I feel like this is where it ends. I need that shot to enter my veins, my Brompton Cocktail blend.” I sigh quietly. “I won’t struggle on in a world so cold, in a world so wrong.” I tell her hoping she’ll understand, but of course she doesn’t and asks what I mean.
“I’m tired, induced euphoria to help me move along. I wanna meet my maker in peace.” I lick my dry lips, and state the obvious to the dumbass nurse who just isn’t getting what I’m telling her. “I have the right to die how I wanna.”
She finally understands me, and goes to get my special Cocktail and the doctor to induce it.
