A screech echoed in the air as fire roared everywhere, burning everything in its wake, the small room was suffocated in fire, trapping everything inside including a single figure huddled in the corner.

No one was coming for the small figure, they were too small, too difficult to be found amongst the rubble, as this realisation dawned on the figure they began crying, tears streamed down their face, they began muttering, chanting almost, it was inaudible at first but as the fire crept forward it turned into a screech " my fault , all my fault". Rocking back and forth the figure failed to notice the floor underneath was creaking, with a lurch the figure fell down into the dark abyss....

" WAKE UP"

Suddenly the quilt was ripped of the bed, revealing a slender figure curled around a pillow.

" Gwyn come on, you have to get better at waking up" Said a voice from above the sleeping figure now known as Gwyn, with a hint of annoyance . A yawn came from Gwyn as she slowly got up looking confused and disorientated. Spinning around in a full circle she saw where the voice was coming from.

" Goddamnit Kiara, why do ya hafta' wake me up like that" Gwyn grumbled.looking in a mirror Gwyn began sorting out her short messy brown hair, and then her face. As Gwyn was staring into the mirror, Kiara got out some clothes for Gwyn. This had been the morning routine for as long as she could remember, wake up because of a nightmare, have kiara shout down her ear and then getting dressed. Kiara was a tall woman, with dark skin and long green hair.

' No matter how many times I look at her she just reminds me of a green haired, older version of korra' As the thought runs through Gwyns head she starts preparing herself for school. Looking in the mirror one time, smoothing out the last of the wrinkles of her hoodie she walks out of her room to get breakfast.

After an uneventful breakfast and the thought of school looming over her head Gwyn reluctantly walked to school.

' I hate school, it just filled with assholes, I'd rather be at home in my comfortable room.' shaking her head Gwyn let her mind wander, she knew the way to the school like the back of her hand and she could probably walk it blind. Walking the path always seemed to calm her down and helped sort out her mind, to a certain extent of course but for the most part she could relax and walk at her own pace. Placing her headphones on her head Gwyn closed her eyes and began imagining.

' I'd love to be part of some fantasy story filled with dragons and monsters and stuff, except werewolves, twilight ruined that for me years ago'.

When Gwyn opened her eyes she found herself at the school, she had walked at least ten minutes with her eyes closed and she didn't know it. Packing away her headphones, she walked into the school just as the bell rang.

Gwyn failed however to see a pair of glowing eyes watching her from the trees, scanning its surroundings while every now and again flickering them back on her. As soon as the bell went however the eyes disappeared but not without a silent unspoken promise

' I'm coming for you '
