Drew me in from the beginning
I knew your soul was beautiful
the more we spoke
Only when I saw you did I
Register how your appearance
Matched your heart
The distance makes me yearn for
the day I can hug you
I will remember her
The girl with chocolate eyes
The butterscotch and brandy hair
A smile so beautiful my heart sings to see it
It was the face of an angel
I fell head over heels for the
lady so far in distance
it stings to bare
Your reassurances of my strength
built me up to make me whole
It gave me something to look forward to
I want to put your hair behind your ear and hold you
just to tell you how important you are
just so you can see yourself
behind the eyes you love so much.
