"I don't want to go." I said to my mother.
"Well you have to go Mia and it is final." My mother said sounding mad.
"If I go then I get to wear my jeans." I tried to reason with her. Key word tried.
"No you will not. You will wear the dress that I have chosen for you with heels and you will take off these dumb glasses that you do not need. Now go get dressed." My mother said in a tone that says there is no arguing with her.
"Ugh!" I shouted and marched up the stairs to my room.
Okay well I'm getting ahead of myself here. Im Mia Winters. Daughter of Blake Porter. Some may say then how is my surname Winters? Well it's my mothers surname, my real name is Mia Savanna Porter, but I begged my parents to let me have it as Winters since I started school. I don't like the spot light and with my dad being the owner of one of the biggest businesses there is, it's pretty hard. Adding on to that, my mom is a famous fashion designer who has her own line.
My mother and I don't have a good relationship as you can see. We never see eye to eye, anymore anyway. When I was younger we were really close, but ever since I started refusing to wear dresses or skirts, and didn't let her dress me up like before she practically disowned me. So I only had my twin brother Mason and best friend Rebecca. I know some may be thinking what about my father well to make it fast he's always busy, but he makes time just not enough, but I'm okay with that I know he's working to give us a good life so I'm grateful.
"You and mom had another cat fight." My twin asked, well more like stated.
"No shit Sherlock." I said to the person that stole my face in a duh tone.
"My name isn't Sherlock it's Mason dumbass."
"It's an expression dimwit." There was a silent moment. And then we started laughing while walking to my room. You see we always joke around like this.
"So what happened this time lil sis?" Yes he is older then me. By two damn minutes. That's not even fair.
"You're only 2 minutes older then me Mase. You're never gonna let it go are you ?" I asked, but already knew the answer.
"Nope. Those two minutes make me who I am today." He said all proud. By now he was sitting on my bed and I was looking at the dress my mom was talking about.
"And how's that ?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. Knowing he doesn't even know himself.
"Well because...because..oh never mind." He said giving up. I knew it.
"Exactly. Alright wait here while I go get ready."
"Alright M." Yes that's what he calls me. The first time he called me that I asked why and he said Mia is too long. In other words he's to lazy to move his mouth to say the whole name.
I went inside the bathroom that is connected to my room it's pretty spacious. First I took a shower. Then put the dress on. The dress is a baby blue dress that reached above my knees. It had sleeves up to the elbow and it is lace. The shoes are black pumps that also have a lace covering. My brown hair is naturally wavy so I just used some gel and scrunched it up. I applied some lip gloss and a little bit of mascara and I was done. I looked at the wall clock and I had been in here for an hour. I usually don't take this long, but I washed my hair. When I walked out my twin was playing on his phone.
"How do I look Mase?" I asked twirling around.
"You look amazing M. I think it's time I buy a shot gun." He said thoughtfully.
"Yeah sure who you gonna shoot. The dog. It's the only boy that actually approaches me." I said. Now I love my dog it's a white American bull dog and is about a year old, but it's true.
"Well you see little sister you like to dress with baggy jeans a sweater way too big on you and thick rimmed glasses that block out your green eyes, also you are always covering your face, either with your hair or you have your hand covering your mouth. So that's your problem." He stated.
"Oh so you would rather me wear mini skirts and crop tops that leave nothing to the imagination so all the boys will look at me?" I asked him. (A//N totally not judging those girls who like to wear that I'm just trying to express how Mia thinks about that choice of style)
"WHAT ?! NO !! NEVER MIND I CHANGE MY MIND STAY HOW YOU ARE !!!!" He shouted at me, standing up on my bed and shaking his head like crazy.
"Exactly. So shut up mister and get off my bed before you dirty it with your shoes."
"Mia Savanna Porter you better not wear those monstrosities." He said a little peeved while laying down instead of standing on my bed.
"Aw and why is that? All the girls you hang around do."
"Exactly and they are sluts while you are my little sister and I don't want no one to talk bad about you." (A//N again not trying to judge that is just the kind of people that Mason had encountered)
"Aw how sweet. I love you too Mason, but if you haven't noticed I'm a social outcast."
"No you just don't talk to any one other than Rebecca. There is a difference."
"Yeah yeah whatever."

At the dinner
I will never understand the point of going to an "outing", a fancy restaurant, just so my dad and his business partner can talk business. Why can't they do it alone? I've had to sit through these more than once. I already know what goes down. My dad and his partner will talk and discuss after introductions of the family and then ignore us the rest of dinner. My mom and my dad's partners wife will sit and talk all about fashion and drink wine until they start hiccuping. While Mason and I have to talk to the either conceited jerk of a son or bitch of a daughter. This always happens. So my torture begins in...

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Porter." There it is.
"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Grey" my dad greets his partner and his wife by shaking hands then introduces us. "This is my wife Ashley. My son Mason and my daughter Mia." When it was my turn I greeted him like my brother did. Nice and short.
"Hello nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Grey." I said giving his a firm handshake. While his wife decided to pull me into a hug and give me a kiss on the cheek. She seems friendly.
"The pleasures all mine please call me Declan. This is my wife Nancy and son Aiden." I shook hands with his son, but he was looking at me as if trying to remember something. It was staring to get annoying. I have to admit though he seemed familiar too.
Once we all sat down everything happened exactly how I said it would, but Aiden kept quite and kept looking at me. I looked up at Mason and I saw him looking intently at Aiden then realization settled in his eyes then humor. I nudged him with my elbow.
"Dude what's up with you?" I whispered to him.
"Oh nothing. It just seems like your little secrets about to spill Mia."
"What ?What the hell are you talking abo.." I didn't get to finish my sentence because all of a sudden Aiden yelled out.
"It is you!!!" He yelled. Everyone turned to look at him then went back to their conversations. What is wrong with these people? How do they not question that?
"What the heck are you talking about?" I ask him. Ignoring the fact that these people wouldn't even bat an eye about something unless they get a gun pulled to their head.
"Mia Winters. That's who you really are." He said with a smirk on his face.
And that seals the deal that this is the worst day of my life. I blame my mother. As always she somehow ends up ruining my day.
