(ally's diary from when she was 9)
dear diary,
   i hung out with the twins today, my mom made me go home early though. i think daddy got hurt because he isn't home and i saw the cops and medics here... mommy keeps crying and i try to help but she tells me it's bedtime. i don't know what to do..

Ally and the twins sat on the couch at her grandparents as she read her diary, she's only reading a page a day, because she only wrote in it once in a day. Ethan is playing games on the TV while Grayson is on social media.

"wow..i was clueless." ally said quietly to Grayson who was closer.
"about what?"
"my dad" her voice shook at the word. that isn't something she chooses to talk about, speaking of her dad, he walks in.
"hey! what's up guys!" her father walked in counting a large amount of money. "hope you're well!!" he grabs six $20 bills and hands them each two, "have fun with that okay?" he sniffed and was talking really fast.
"no thanks dad. i don't want you buying my love, thanks"
"no sweetie, it's an honor"
"dad. i said no" she gets up slamming her old diary shut. "maybe if you chose me and not drugs, i'd except it. this isn't good to have that much money"
her father frowned "but i can give you what you wanted, remember all those dolls and things you wanted for you're room?"
"yeah, like 6 years ago, i'm sixteen. you missed all those years when mom was struggling to give me a roof over my head and food. where were you then"
he backed up "ally.. i'm so sorry" tears filled her eyes and she set the money down because he wasn't taking it.
"i want you to go please.." she sat down next to Grayson. her dad left, and he walked to the next place that he would be accepted.

dear diary,
   remember when i said that daddy was in the hospital. i found out why. overdose of drugs. i wanna cry, i should've known, it's okay, i'll get through it, good night.

she covers up and lays her head on Grayson, they're the best of friends. they have been since they were infants, he grabbed her hand
"it will be alright ally, he won't be like that forever."
"i think he will."
"addicts have that problem. they have to go to rehab."
"i hope he does." she sighed
"he will." Grayson said and hugged her.
they fell asleep and ethan did too.
