Summer

      I hate  summer. Not just because that's my parent's idea of a "cool" name, but because that's when all the kids, like me, are forced to go to summer camp. Unfortunately, I had been forced to go to it. After I'd packed all my bags, and went on this really long and boring bus ride, After about twelve hours, I finally got to Vermont summer camp.  I then got assigned to this puny cabin with two other girls.  How were  we all supposed to fit in this tiny thing?  Then they both arrived, Lexi has to come here because she was failing a lot of classes. It was this camp or summer school.  Amy was here because she was a class clown and a very good prankster. I could see why.  We all had to go to this "meet and greet" thing.  Then I met "the Dweebs".  The leader dweeb William (Will) and the assistant dweebs, Chris and Zack. After that was over we went back to the cabin. I found out that Lexi and Amy aren't too bad.    We had a great time fooling around until the counselor hollered "Lights out, ladies."  We all fell asleep quickly.  The next seven days we canoed, swam, water skied, and rock climbed. The next day I woke up and it was still dark, so I went back to sleep.

        Four hours later someone outside called, "Is anyone still in this cabin?" 

        Amy yelled back, "No, nobody is in here except for Amy, Lexi and Summer!"  The voice then said that we had missed roll call and breakfast. In punishment, we had KP( kitchen patrol ) duty instead of the dweebs. And, to top it off, we had to clean off all the black paint from our windows. 

        As the dweebs sauntered past Will said in a naughty voice, "I do so hope that you all enjoyed those four extra hours of sleep we gave you." I smiled stupidly and pretended to be dumb for a moment. 

        "Oh, yes we absolutely adored it, would you so kindly allow me to show you something to thank you?" 

        "Sure," he said.  And then I showed him my fist.

        "If you want this in your face stay right here!" I exploded. 

        Later Lexi said, "We need to get even with them."

        "Totally."  We agreed but what do we do?  We brain stormed for awhile.  Then we had our plan.  We set the date for June 27th, two days before we all left.  The dweebs had taken up three whole cabins which I guess isn't too bad for nine people.  The day of the attack we each chose a cabin.  I chose Will's, I so needed to get back at that jerk.  I covered everything with traps for his dweeb followers to fall for.  Then, right when I was leaving, I  accidently set off one of the traps and melted chocolate, suddenly covered them all from head to toe! I froze. I would be in so much trouble if I got caught.  Will, Chris, and I think another guy ( I forget his name) stirred and rolled around a little but somehow they didn't wake up.  I ran out of there as fast as I could and met Lexi and Amy outside of our cabin.  They'd done Zack and Chris's two cabins. We went to our cabin and went to sleep immediately. In the morning there was a bunch of commotion and yelling by the dweebs' cabins. We each looked out  our cabin window.  The dweebs had fallen for every single one of the tricks and traps we set up, it was awesome!

        "Two words," I told Lexi and Amy, "We win."  And so in the end the champions were the girls.
