-No one's POV-
It was a chilly evening in Wellington Wells. As the sky was darkening, the residents were finishing up daily chores and heading off work to head home. Little Arthur clung to his brown jacket as his big brother Percy, who strolled by his side. They were heading to the candy shop; their dad gave them a few pounds as a reward for getting As on their tests recently, and they decided to spend it on sweets.
"Come on Percy! We gotta get there before it closes!" Shouted Arthur.
"It's not gonna close for another hour." Shrugged Percy.
"Yea, well you're moving at a snail's pace! It's gonna be the next hour by the time we get there!" Arthur walked faster this time.
"Hey, don't you waddle off without me!" Finally picking up the pace, trying not to get left behind.
After the almost 20 minute walk, they finally made it to Sweetie's Sweets Shop. Notorious for her Honey Danishes and Sparkling-Water Taffies. Sweetie's face lit up with joy at the sight of the two customers that entered her shop. Percy steps up to the counter while Arthur browses the chocolates and vanilla candies.
"Oi there, children! What'll it be?" She says with a bright tone.
"Er...I'll take 3 Chocolate Doubloons please. And...Arthur?" He glances over to Arthur.
Arthur snaps out of his sugar gaze. "Oh! Uh...3 Vanilla Delights please."
Sweetie hands reaches behind the counter, pulling out 3 hand-sized chocolate coins, and two vanilla-coated cookies. She hands Percy the Doubloons and Delights while Percy hands over a 10 pound bill.
"Thanks Ms." Says Percy.
"Thanks Ms!" Repeats Arthur, heading for the door.
"Do come again boys!" Sweetie waves as the boys leave.
Once outside, Percy hands the excited Arthur his Delights.
"Here, just make sure to eat one at a time."
"And you remember to not get chocolate all over your face. Remember when Sally thought you had-"
"I remember Arthur! Just don't remind me again. That was...really embarrassing." Percy frowned a bit.
"I know, I know. Probably not as embarrassing as when I almost choked to death."
Percy crosses his arms with a slight smile. "Only proves my point, doesn't it?"
As they headed home, the streets got emptier and the air became colder. The brothers both wanted to hurry home, but were stopped by a girl in a pretty blue dress and white heels. She crosses her arms, and gazes at the two with her head tilted in a way her nose was almost up in the air.
"Hello boys! Out for a stroll at this time of night?" She inquires.
"We might ask you the same thing, Prudence. It's too late this time of night for a girl to be wandering around." Replies Percy, almost annoyed.
"Oh, I was just on my way home from the fair.~"
"Fair? What Fair?" Percy crosses his arms disbelievingly.
"Oh, you know, the LudHolm Fair that's held almost every year. They give out some of the nicest goodies. Such a shame I didn't see you there." She smirks a bit.
Arthur speaks up. "Oh, w..well, sorry we weren't there. We were busy doing some...homework and getting candy."
She snorts. "Ha! Candy? From Ms. Sweetie's Shop I presume? You had to actually pay for what little variety she has. And then she has the nerve to overprice them. Only a fool would take anything from her."
