Remilian High School
I took one step onto the stairs that lead into Remilian high school. My parents got a divorce over the summer so I ended up moving away to a new town called Pristance with my mother. It was my first day of high school, the middle school I went to before I moved away was really ghetto. There was way too much drama that you wouldn't believe it. I told my mother and father about the problems at school but they were either drunk or didnt want to listen to my so called, 'bullshit'. I took another step on the staircase leading into the high school. I noticed a hand full of ther other students had tags with numbers on their uniform shirts. The high school is a private school so of course we had to wear uniforms. Eh, at least the school looks much more better than the last one. I was supposed to go to another high school but as I said, we moved, and I was glad we did. My mother is trying to stop drinking and start caring for me ever since the incident with my father.
2006, June 3...
"Dont you dare talk to me like that ever again!" Said my drunk father as he slapped my weeping mother during a fight. I had just came home from my daily walk at the park. I was used to the shouts and cries by now. My mother and father noticed I had entered the house and stopped their argument. "We're having guests over this evening, Brenda. Get dressed up." Demanded my mother as she wiped the tears off her bruised cheeks. My father stormed out of the house angrily. "Wheres he going?" I asked my mother.
"Don't worry about him, hes just going to the store to buy some ingredients for the dinner I'll be cooking for tonight." She replied with a weak voice as if she were gonna break down into tears. I headed to my room and got dressed for dinner.6:49 PM...
My mother had prepared dinner and the guests would gonna arrive around 7:00 PM. I ran downstairs and into the dining room and sat on the dining table which was filled with food. I sat down in the round table and infront of me sat my father. He had his normal, angry-at-everything look on his face. "When the fuck are they getting here?!" he roared to my mother. "Roy, they'll be here any minute now, please have patience and put on a smile for once in your life." She replied, again with a weak voice scared that she'll get yelled by him again. As I started to shake in fear of my father, I heard a knock come from the door. My mother speed walked through the kitchen and living room to open the door for the guests. A women in a red beautiful dress, sparkling diamond earrings and the most beautiful curly red hair smiled at my mother and said "Hello Mrs. Peterson. I don't believe you've met my wife, Cassandra." She held the shoulder of her beautiful wife who wore a black and white dress and the exact same pairs of earrings her wife had on but she had casual straight black hair. "Hello, its nice to meet you." Cassandra said as she shook the hand of my mother. My mother moved out of the way and welcomed them in the house. "Come on in. Dinners ready." She smiled at the two.
Cassandra and her wife, Evelyn entered the house with a smile. They sat down in the dinner table and tried starting a conversation with my father.
"I hear you work at a construction site, um, Roy, is it?" Asked Evelyn. "Yeah, I do. I mean, someones gotta bring the money to the family since these two wont do a damn thing." My mother scoffed at his comment as the two guests felt a bit uncomfortable. I began to eat the dinner my mother had worked hard on as Evelyn tried to restart to the conversation , "So, Mrs. Peterson," my mother interrupted her, "Oh, you can just call me Beatrice." "Oh, ok" Evelyn nodded and continued, "If we were to give you a position in HR for our company, Garcia's Health Department, what would you do differently?" It was then I realized this was a interview for a job. It was probably to see how stuff around home was and if my mother was able to go to work daily but i dont know, I'm barely 14. "She'd probably just do everything horrible and get fired in the first few days" My father said out of nowhere. "What the fuck is wrong with you?!" My mother barked at my father as she got up from her chair and slapped him in the right cheek, but my father wasn't effected by it. He just got up from his chair and put on his angry face and punched my mother. My heart skipped a beat, Evelyn and Cassandra gasped and got up from their chairs. My mother fell onto the floor with a red-burning face. Tears ran down her tears. My heart began to beat faster and faster every second. I didnt know what to do so I just sat on my chair in fear. Evelyn grabbed her phone an then called 911...My father was arrested for abuse. My mother didn't get the job due to us moving. Even if we stayed at our old home, she still wouldn't have received the job position.

I entered the school. Students flooded the hallways. A girl around my age walked up to me with a smile and asked, "Are you Brenda Peterson?"
"Um, yeah?" I replied.
"Hi, my name is Amanda Palmer." She reached her arm to me to shake hands so I awkwardly shook her hand. "So, I'll be showing you around the school and where your classes are and all that stuff. "Cooool. . . ." I responded. "Why the long face? Come on! Put a smile on your face!" She was oddly super happy but I didn't mind it so I put on a small smile. "That's the spirit!" She grabbed my hand and pulled me to a table with papers to sign up for after school activities. "Oh, I dont do after school activities" I explained to her. "Oh, they're not after school activities. They're electives. You could choose which electives you wanna be in." She said.
"Oh, cool."Not.
I have trouble with decisions. One time I couldnt decide to either get a Hersheys chocolate or Reese's chocolate at a vending machine and it took me about 27 minutes to choose.
I ended up getting Kit Kat chocolate.
I walked up to a paper that said 'J8H3S6' so I had to ask, "Whats this one?" "Oh, that one. . . I can't really explain it 'cause the class is kind of mysterious and the people who join it have to keep what happens in there a secret." Hm, interesting. I would normally take forever to choose, but I think I have my decision. "I'm joining 'J8H3S6' class" I told her. "Nice!" She jumped with excitement as I signed my name onto the paper. After that, I chose 2 more electives and received my class schedule.
My first class was J8H3S6 so I was really excited for that. The bell rang so the students and I walked to our first period. Amanda had walked with me to my first period. "So, if you need anything, just give me a text or call." She handed me a small piece of paper with her number. "Thanks" I responded with a little voice crack. "You're welcome!" She smiled.
We reached my class and we said our goodbyes. As I entered the class, everything was dark. I noticed the door window was closed up by some dark rough material. I saw a light switch so I switched it on. When I turned around, my father stood infront of me with a grin. He walked up to me and said "Hello sweetie, don't you worry, i wont hurt you..." I screamed in fear as he cackled hysterically.
