☆ six ☆

luke didn't understand what he had done wrong. he loved xavier, and he tried so hard to show him that he did. he always bought the boy things, and at night he would hold him and shower him with love. it wasn't fair. three years with his high school sweetheart down the drain and all luke could do was cry. he just sat in his living room and cried.

he and xavier started dating when luke was a junior and xavier was a senior. everyone told them it wouldn't work because xavier would move away and leave luke. luke would cry night after night just thinking about that, but xavier proved them wrong. he waited for luke. he told luke that no matter what happened, he was going to be there. and he was. the day after luke graduated, the pair went on a long road trip and eventually moved in together. it was the happiest day of luke's life when he could finally say he and xavier were taking the relationship to the next level.

however, xavier was an angry guy. he would just get irrationally angry about little things. luke loved him though, and when he got angry he would just calm him down. luke learned little things that ticked his boyfriend off and would help him avoid them at all cost. he absolutely hated playing games and would get angry to the point of crying if he lost. luke rarely played games with him. he also didn't like when luke was out for long periods of time, so luke only went a few places. xavier loved him, and luke loved xavier.

luke didn't understand why he had started arguing with xavier, but a few nights back he and xavier got into an argument and luke just had to bring up his anger. he made that mistake and now xavier was gone. luke was currently sleeping on his parent's couch, all of his things still at his ex-boyfriend's house. he was told to just leave after their argument. he couldn't grab anything.

luke was sobbing now, his body shaking uncontrollably. he couldn't think about anything other than the disappointment on his parent's faces when he came to their house in tears, saying that he and xavier had broken up. they didn't even seem to care, only saying 'it was bound to happen'. 

luke's mind drifted to michael. he tried not to think about him, but the boy was very nice. and michael had told him to text him if he needed help and right now, luke needed help. he needed someone to talk to, just wanting someone to listen to him. so, after a moment of debating, he finally texted the boy.

                                                                    um,hey michael

                     hey luke. you okay?

                                   no

                          what's going on?

                                                                             i can't believe my boyfriend broke up with me. i'm sorry, it's kinda childish

  no it's not. i get it. well, not really but i'm really sorry

it's okay, it just hurts. i really loved him       

                          i'm really sorry

luke could tell michael was uncomfortable, and luke didn't really know what else to say. he was embarrassed to be talking to one of his students about something as little as his boyfriend, but he felt like michael was the only one, at this moment, who would listen to him. he said goodnight to michael before turning his phone off and going to bed, unsure of why he really wants michael to hold him.
