Prologue

" Alexandra Emelia Rodrigues, ven y recoge tus cosas ahora mismo!" I hear my mother yell from the kitchen. Meaning get down here and pick up your stuff right now.

I run back downstairs grab my stuff I left in a pile next to the door and continue going up to my room. "Got it mom" I yell back annoyed. Mothers. Always on your back for the same things. I drop my stuff in my room and hurriedly start my homework so i can help clean up for Bible study. My dad is the pastor so it always ends up being here. I open my planner to see what i have. Math, Bible, Science, History, Literature, and Grammar. Great. In other words everything but Robotics, only because i got really ahead on the project in class yesterday. So this is what eighth grade feels like... And wednesdays are supposed to be the lighter homework days. So glad that it's the end of the year. Sometimes, I really wish I went to public school and didn't learn anything like normal kids around here. My schedule is so insane, with perfect grades, piano, homework, church, sistersitting, and family. Don't get me wrong, the Christian private school thing is great, I'm so blessed to have it, but really, must they give so much homework and projects? I try to finish the morning work as fast as I can. After about an hour or so I get Math Bible and some of Science done and decide to finish the rest either tomorrow lunch, or possibly later tonight. Now I had to focus on getting the house, and myself ready.

I get downstairs and crank up the music to make cleaning a little more interesting. I clear the floors to be vaccuumed, do the dishes, and wipe countertops. Dishes take forever, so by that time I have about, 10 minutes to throw on an outfit and stand ready to open the door and greet. I decide that I'll just wear whatever, since I know I'm on babysitting duty. For sure I know that Lizzy is one of the kids, so I know I'll be running round sweating a bit. Her nickname is the energizer bunny. She wakes up at 7AM and goes to bed at about 1AM. AND SHE IS 4!!!! Everyone feels so bad for her mother. She is always jumping and playing and running, and climbing around doing everything she shouldn't.

I end up grabbing pink shorts and a grey t-shirt from school. I run downstairs and finally say hi to my family for the first time all night. Mom miraculously prepared dinner so I run to the kitchen and scarf it down before people arrive. I finish, wash my plate and get to the door in time for the first ring. Well I open the blinds on the windows near the door to see who it is and I see a common couple from church, and then I see HIM.
