Dinah's POV:

"Welcome to Mercy Miami Hospital. Today, you will be starting your careers as surgical interns. I'm Dr. Jauregui and I will be your resident. Okay, so grab your charts and follow me." All of the twelve interns grab their charts and follow Dr. Jauregui quickly down the halls of the hospital. I'm the last to grab my chart and follow behind everyone as I try to absorb all of the information that Dr. Jauregui is providing us with. She takes us to room 112 and tells us to check the patient's vitals and look at their charts. Everyone does as told and she takes us out of the room. I see this beautiful short brunette walking in front of me and when she turns around, my heart literally stops. She's drop-dead gorgeous. Oh, this is gonna be one hell of a day. Just play it cool, Dinah. Play it cool. She turns back around and I try to stay calm as I walk slightly faster to catch up with the brunette, but I freeze in my place when she turns around again. This time, I managed to make a fool out of myself and trip over my own feet. I try to stand up but I fail. The brunette turns around to help me. Oh, God. I think my heart stopped working. Like, I think that it just overworked itself because of this girl. Holy crap. Help me.

"Oh my gosh, are you okay? That was quite an unexpected fall." The brunette panics as she kneels down by my side. I nod slowly as she helps me get back up on my feet and I softly thank her.

"I'm fine. Today's just not going so well." I shrug it off and she frowns.

"How? Today's our first day as interns! It's so exciting. The only thing is that I can't keep up with Dr. Jauregui. She walks too fast for me to handle. Anyway, I'm Ally-Brooke, or if you'd rather call me Dr. Hernandez, I'm okay with that too." The short brunette smiles at me and holds out her hand. She laughs playfully as she comments on her lack of speed.

"Dinah-Jane, or Dr. Hansen whichever you prefer." I nervously accept her handshake and when our hands make contact, I feel something weird. I got this really strange feeling in the pit of my stomach. Almost as if I had to pee.

"Dr. Hernandez, you better get moving. We're a little behind." She looks ahead and sees everyone walking at a fast pace towards the Operating Room. We run to catch up while holding hands since I'm faster and can pull her along to make her run as fast as me. I just can't let myself trip again cause that'd also cause her to fall.

"Jesus, Dinah. Slow down." She pants breathlessly as we finally catch up to the group.

"Sorry, Ally. We had to catch up." I whisper to her as Dr. Jauregui shows us around the Operating Room.

"Today, I will select two of you to make an operation on a live patient. They're going to be alive when they get on that table and they best be alive when they get off. Understand?" Everyone looks around at each other, nodding frightfully. Holy shit. Two of us will be operating? Oh my God, hopefully I'm not going to be chosen.

"Okay, so I've chosen two names. I don't know faces yet, so I'm going by names. Dr. Hansen and Dr. Hernandez, you two will be operating. You two, go scrub in, and the rest of you, go sit up there." She finishes off and points up to the watch area. It's just like the one that the surgeons sit in on Grey's Anatomy when watching a surgery.

"Dinah-Jane, let's go scrub in. I'm so excited!" The brunette grabs my hand and pulls me along. We make it to the wash area and wash our hands and fore-arms before drying up and putting on gloves, surgical scrubs, caps, and masks. We walk into the operating area and see Dr. Jauregui already in there.

"Okay, interns, this patient needs open liver surgery to remove a malignant tumor. You will perform the surgery on this patient successfully. Each and every step is crucial. If you are uncertain about something, confirm with one another. I will be here if there are any complications, but if everything is going well, I will just watch and listen." We both nod and prepare ourselves for the operation that we are about to perform. I take a look at the patient and use a sharpie to mark the indications of where we need to make the incisions.
