Broken faerie, broken magic. A phrase repeated in the minds of all fae, pounded into the heads of children by their mothers. If you don't take care of yourself, they say, your magic will come out broken. It won't work, and in times you need it most, it will fail.
But this spiel is besides the point. What I'm getting at is that I've decided it would be most beneficial to write detailed reports on the breaking of Emylin, the last of the Light. Of course, that is just her official title... there are a few other fae that I suspect are of mixed lineage, but Emylin is the last pureblood light fae. Should I be able to break her, having her on my side to do my bidding is the most advantageous course of action to take, especially when one takes into consideration her skill sets.
Taken her current infatuation with my nephew, it is certain that she will not do anything I tell her unless she be under my control (which is taxing on my energy) or eradicated of her disgusting "love" for him. It would be best if she could bring herself to love me as well... I wouldn't mind a companion in the sheets.
After much consideration (well, not much consideration - it was a quick decision), I came to the conclusion that reaching my goal of becoming King of the Underworld will be easiest if Emylin is my Queen, and the easiest way to make her my Queen is to break her. In other words, I want a clean slate. Luckily, this is one of the things I do - and enjoy- most. Given my Silvertongue and Dreamwalking, this should be easy, and given her awfully repulsive human habits, this will be made even easier. They are weak-minded, after all. Besides, she's probably so shaken from killing many other faeries she'll have her mental defenses down.
This should be interesting.
In fact, I've already started.
I had her tossed into her personal quarters that I had designated for her as soon as she set foot in the manor. I posted four guards outside, securing her better than I secured many of the prisoners that dwell in my dungeon. When I opened the chamber door, she was glaring at me with two eyes of burning rage - oh, how amusing it was! She looked like she wanted to kill me - as if she could! All she is right now is a fae with no control over her powers. On top of that, she has my Mark, and that will be keeping her in check for sure.
That aside, she was so helpless, completely at my mercy, and I loved it. Oh, how is miss my days of being in power... but I won't be missing it for long, because with her by my side, I'll be unstoppable.
And maybe I'll have her kill my nephew just for kicks, just to see how it breaks both of them.
As soon as I stepped into the room, I could see Emylin's true feelings, despite effort she put in to hide them. I could see her tremble as she spat her empty threats at me. I could see the fire that burned in her eyes even as her mind clouded with doubt. I could hear her voice tremble as she glared daggers at me. I could sense everything.
There is nothing she can hide from me.
Once her little speech declaring she'd kill me for taking her away from her precious Damien was over, I gave her a little speech of my own, declaring her mine. I told her that no one would find her, and, lacing some of my Silvertongue ability into my words, I convinced her that she was hearing wedding bells in the distance. I told her that the chimes were coming from Damien's wedding, when in fact we are too far away to hear the ceremony.
That was all it took for her to break down. Tears began silently streaming down her face despite the scowl she wore on her face. Her fists were balled, I could see that, and I could see her legs tense, preparing to launch her at me. Just as I had predicted, she leaped for me, fist swinging for my nose, and I promptly sent her to the dungeon before she lay a finger on me. Her naivety is amusing. She actually thought she could hurt me.
Well, she is in for a surprise.
Ah, look at the time. It's getting late, I should go check on her again, maybe terrorize her dreams. It's what I do best, after all.
I'll be going.
Sweet dreams.
Ah, hi! Thanks for checking out my submission to the fanfic contest for Saving the King of the Underworld... even though the events in this fanfic concern those in Friends with the King of the Underworld... hopefully this still counts, haha. Anyhow, this is going to be fun! Hope you stick around with me until the end!
Also, as a side note, updates will generally be short, since Robyn is summarizing the previous day's events or whatnot. Enjoy!
