Minho's POV
My eyes slowly opened as I heard a loud popping sound echo through the room. I quickly bolted upright and was about to inform Thomas and Ben of the noise until I saw a silhouette of someone coming out from the vents.
"Cassie?" I whispered. I couldn't believe it, after all this time I would finally be able to talk to her. My sassy little side-kick. Finally.
"Oh my gosh. Minho," Cassidy breathed in a sigh of relief, "shh, don't make a sound. Just follow me".
Cassidy quickly disappeared into the air vents. I shot one quick glance at the sleeping Gladers until I followed her into the air vents. Oh the air vents I climb through for this girl.
Although it was pitch-black, Cassidy seemed to know exactly where we were going. I tried to remember the way back to the bedrooms, but we took too many turns and I eventually convinced myself that I didn't need to memorize it because I had Cassidy with me.
I don't remember how long it took us to reach the room but it took a very long time. Almost as long as Cassidy takes to get ready. Almost.
Silently, without saying a word, Cassidy stopped in the middle of the air ducts and slipped into a room through a hole. I followed her stealthy without questioning her. We ended up in a small, closet like room with no doors or windows.
Cassidy turned around to face me and cupped my face in her hands, "Minho," she breathed.
I rested my forehead against hers and inhaled deeply. She still smelled like those flowers that used to grow in the Glade. She was here. Cassidy was here. We were together again.
We stayed there for a while, until I reluctantly pulled back. Something was wrong. This is not the way I had imagined we would meet again.
"What's wrong?" I whispered into the darkness. I had a slight fear bugging me in the back of my mind that she would never tell me. In the Glade, Cassidy always had a hard time talking to people and after what I saw yesterday, I can only imagine how much worse she could have gotten.
"Oh Minho, I knew you would be curious. Where do I even start?"

Cassidy's POV
"Start from what happened the day you left".
I had never been so scared of Minho before. Not of Minho, for Minho.
"I'll tell you everything. I promise, but you need to promise me something first" I tried to make eye contact with him, but it was too dark. I eventually just settled for placing my hands in his.
"What?" His hands closed around mine.
"Promise me that no matter what I say, you won't leave".
"I promise".

"Well, I know that this generation of students are all very positively oriented and that we all are sometimes very energetic which is why giving this talk is breaking my heart. However, I have no choice but to tell everyone when they come of age about what reality truly is" Ava had gathered everyone of the same age as me to the pavilion. She was giving us the talk. Some people in the Wicked compound call it the Doomsday talk. People say that it really brings out the worst in people and it is the turning point of life. I honestly didn't know what to think.
"Reality is the Right Arm. The Right Arm is a group of horrific people who believe that our cause, to help save humanity, is dangerous. They do not realize how much we are truly helping the world. Their intent is to end WICKED and everyone associated with it," Ava continued while steadily keeping a stoic face the whole time. She never made eye contact with a single individual around the room, instead she bore her eyesight into the WICKED seal that was hanging in the back of the room.
