Pidge came and sat next to Shiro on the bin he was sitting on. They conversed about contacting Earth.
"I can't believe we're finally going home," Lance said with a grin. Ash turned and smiled up at him. Lance smiled back down at her, his heart fluttering.
"I'm going to hug my family and never let go," Hunk said, closing his eyes and imagining the moment. More conversations were thrown around, but Ash didn't hear them. After Hunk had spoke, Lance had walked behind Ash and wrapped his arms around her torso, resting his chin on her head. She'd froze, and blocked out all conversation as she attempted not to run away from the contact.
"I guess we need to decide whom will be riding with whom," Krolia, Keith's mom stated. A few arguments were thrown around, until Lance eventually was somehow able to choose where everyone would go.
Ash was the only one with Pidge. Another seat had sprouted next to Pidge's control seat; Ash taking the seat gratefully, still tired from, well, dying. As soon as they had gotten into comfortable space, Pidge pulled up her screen that she had gotten hooked up to her gaming station.
As soon as everyone found out only Ash, the calmest, most quiet person, was with Pidge, they all demanded a group change.
Lance tried sneaking Ash into his lion, but was caught by Keith. Keith still didn't trust Lance alone with Ash, so he had Ash come to his lion with his mother.
They'd found a nearby Blade base, and figured they'd check in. Only to find out the base had been shut down for a few years.
The group was soon after ambushed by a small Galra fleet; which wouldn't have been a problem, but the lions were not in full power.
The cosmic wolf had begun teleporting everyone lion to lion; Ash ended up with Lance. She had no clue as to why he teleported her here; it didn't make sense.
The lions didn't have enough power to form Voltron; the group was forced to retreat. Due to all the maneuvering, and Ash's weakened state, she struggled to keep herself standing. She clung to the back of Lance's chair.
Her grip eventually slipped, and she slid back into one of the walls of the red lion. She was knocked unconscious; similar to the time when Lance was first piloting the blue lion.
Lance heard a thud behind him and looked in the direction of the noise to see Ash laying there. He sucked in a breath of worry.
"Ash!" He attempted to call to her. No response. He turned back around to focus.
"Guys! Ash is unconscious; she won't wake up," he said hurriedly to the other crew members. Small gasps and murmurs of worry came in his ear. However, he couldn't get up to go help, he needed to stay focused on the battle at hand.***
"Mhm... mhmmm..." Lance muttered to himself as he pressed himself up against all of the walls.
"What are you doing?" Hunk finally asked. Lance inspected a few more walls before responding.
"Looking for a secret exit."
"You've seen too many movies, Lance," Keith said. He gazed down at Ash concernedly; her unconscious body lay in his lap. Her chest rose and fell at a slow and steady pace, the only thing signifying she was alive.***
"We're going to have a little talk," Zethrid said with a wicked smile coming across her face. The Paladins shot their recognition at Lotor's former generals.
Zethrid and Exor kept demanding to know what happened to Lotor, and where the group had been the entire time. Nobody knew what they were talking about.
"If you don't tell us what we want to know, we'll be forced to apply pressure," Zethrid threatened. Still, nobody spoke.
"Whose our first victim?" Ezor asked excitedly. Keith pulled Ash closer to his body protectively as their greedy eyes scanned the room.
"Grab the unconscious one," Zethrid commanded, seeing in which the protective manor Keith held her in. As they approached, Keith hugged her closer, and Lance stood up.
"Don't touch her!" He exclaimed, running at Ezor. Ezor easily dodged the blow and kicked Lance back towards the wall.
Ezor lashed out with her strange ponytail and gripped Ash, prying her from Keith with little struggle.
She brought Ash closer to her, and gripped her by the throat, pinning Ash against the wall.
A pained expression came across her unconscious face as Ezor tightened her grip around the thin girls throat.
"Answers!" She commanded. The Paladins began to protest, saying they didn't know anything. The alarm suddenly went off; Ezor dropped Ash on the hard floor as her and Zethrid ran out of the room.
Keith ran over to Ash worriedly; her nose was bleeding. The sight of her bloody nose brought back unpleasant memories of that day with James; Keith whined to himself silently.=========
Another short-ish chapter; another will be posted pretty soon I'm sure. And yes I named the chapter after the episode that these events all occurred in. I know, I'm so original right? -insert sarcasm-
