Flyers
Flyers are apart of our everyday lives. They tell us when things are happening or to sign up for a new job, but have you ever thought how much litter they cause. I bet you haven't. As they hang on poles and store windows, they are using more trees, and they are clogging up the air. People aren't committed to helping because they don't know, but there is a way that both sides can get there way, we just need to stop and think.
Ughh Monday. The day that determines how the week starts. I knew the store would be full, and my shoes would get wet and muddy. Could it get worse?
"Good morning sweetie. Ready for breakfast?"
"Yeah, I guess."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
"No really what's wrong?"
"I said nothing, and don't call me sweetie I'm your sister."
"Yeah but I'm in charge."
"Not of me. I'm turning fourteen in three days."
"Doesn't mean you're an adult."
"Didn't say it did."
"Get ready."
Oh, did I mention my older sister Gabby? Yeah that's her. She has to take care of me because our mom died of cancer and my dad moved out because he was an alcoholic. He's in prison still. Gabby thinks she has to protect me all the time, and I mean, yeah, but she doesn't need to baby me.
Whoosh. I saw a light blue flash though my window. A flyer, again. What could it be about this time? A carnival. I crumple it up and toss it. Can't go anyway.
You know that feeling when someone is teasing you and then they get you in trouble. Well I have that feeling with my sister. She is always acting like nothing happened and then blames it on me.
