Tom Pov:

My alarm clock screams a annoying ring.

I bear with the ringing for about a minute then I press the off button on it.

I look down at Tommy Bear that's in my grasp.

"Good morning," I say to him.

I give him a quick kiss on the forehead and get up.

I do a few stretches then I walk over to my dresser.

I pull out a blue hoodie, ripped jeans, and a grey t shirt.

I get dressed and walk over to my bedroom door.

I open it and the smell of pancakes flows threw the hall.

Sarah made pancakes for breakfast!

I quickly run down the stairs and into the kitchen.

I see Sarah putting pancakes on 2 plates on the kitchen counter.

Sarah has brown hair that she puts into a pony tail with a sparkly blue hair tie. She usually wears a t shirt with some weird looking picture on it and blue diamond earrings.

Today she has a cartoon pickle on her shirt that's saying, "It's 1 pickle of a day!" I wonder what that even means.

I quickly run over to the kitchen. "Good morning Sarah!" I say.

Sarah looks at me and smiles. "Hey Tommy!" Sarah says.

"I didn't know you were serious about making pancakes for my first day of school!"

"I don't joke about pancakes Tom. I'd be a monster if I did,"

"Gimme gimme!" I say and grab a plate of pancakes.

"Be careful Tom, they're still hot!" I grab a fork and take a bite.

I immediately regret my decision and spit it out on to my plate. "HOT!"

"Don't say I didn't warn you. Now sit down and enjoy your breakfast like a normal human being," Sarah laughs.

"Okay okay,"

I put my plate of pancakes on the kitchen island. I pull a stool out and sit down in front of the pancakes.

I check my watch.

"I have exactly 5 minutes and 34 seconds to eat my food," I say.

"Well those pancakes aren't going to eat themselves! Hurry or you're going to be late!" Sarah says.

I nod and begin eating the hot pancakes.

I put ear buds in my ears and I listen to music.

I see the usual things that happen in the morning.

I see Mr. Reagans watering his garden the same way he does every morning, I see the same busy cars with the same busy people drive by me as they hurry not to be late for work, I see the same kids coming out of their same homes to come to school just like me, and I see the same cracks in the sidewalk that I spent years memorizing the details while walking to school.

Of course I'm nervous to start 10th grade, but I've mentally prepared myself for the insanity this year will bring me.

I've readied myself for the bullies, the teasing, and of course the social anxiety that comes with being around people I'm not sure of.

I make it to the front yard of the school.

Without warning I get hugged from behind.

"I missed you soooooo much Tom!" I hear a familiar voice say.
