I sighed in contempt as the sun hit my face. I rarely saw it because Dad hides me in the darkness. He wears a mask all the time and is always sad because of a woman called Christine. If you haven't guessed by this time, my Dad is the Phantom of the opera house... or what was the opera house, he burnt it down twelve years ago.
Five months ago, people came and started to repair the opera house. We hid in the deepest parts that no one has every been before. We could hear people chatting and working all day and night. But two days ago, it all stopped...
I had crept up to the surface and saw nothing... but then I heard some scuffling and twenty young girls about my age, were rushing around the stage.
When I went down again, my Dad had a pained expression on his face.
"The opera house is back open." He said softly, I haven't seen him since. Sometimes... At night, I could hear him crying and whispering to himself.
Last night, I dreamt of what it must be like to watch them performing, to feel the music traveling into my body, the happiness it brings to me. I need to see.
Soon, night had fallen. I crept like an owl looking for it's pray. I breathed in the dusty smell as I looked around. I was standing on a large stage with bright red curtains and hundreds of wooden chairs with cushions that looked as plumb as a turkey.
"Wow." I breathed as I took in every shape, every angle. I saw a violin and I couldn't resist. I leapt down and stroked it lovingly.
I began to play quietly to myself but soon I started to play louder as I lost myself into the notes pf the music. When I had finished, I put the violin back into the case and looked around.
My heart fell as I saw to bright green pair of eyes staring at me. I gasped in surprise as they dissappered and I heard soft footsteps running down the steps.
I took the chance to run, I didn't stop running until I had reached a place to secret to mention. I peered out and saw a girl with long black hair that was wavy and looked silky to touch. She was slim with tanned skin.
"Hello!!" She called quietly. I ached to reply, to introduce myself, to laugh with her. To get to know her...
But what would Dad say? He wouldn't care... he never cares about me... Why should I care!! I'm going to do it.
I raced away and cautiously crept towards her.
"Hello? What's your name?" I asked her. She looked me up and down before becoming transfixed on my face. I had a large scar on the left side of my face. My brown hair was to short to cover it.
"My name is Rena... What's yours? And how did you get in here?" I was about to answer but then I heard a noise and I whipped my head around.
Before she could do anything, I raced away. As I slid back into the ground, I smiled...
Rena... You will be mine...
I crept into my bed and fell into the sweetest of dreams....
I know it is abit rubbish and short but it will get better!!
What do u think anyway... PLEASE COMMENT!!
