In a post-apocalyptic world where civil war tears countries apart and savage rebels occupy the outlying woodlands, the only way to have guaranteed safety is to have either money, beauty, or power. And let me tell you, Jacqueline has it all... or rather her tycoon father has money, she has beauty, and her family name has power, but really what’s the difference?
For as long as she can remember, Jacqueline has been taught that she’s better than anyone beneath her, and up until her 18th birthday she believed it. That is until she’s suddenly snatched away from her lavish lifestyle, kidnapped by wild, painted rebels, and used as a bargaining chip against her own family. She quickly realizes that the only way to stay alive is to change her name and pretend to be the person she most definitely isn’t.
It’s only when she truly sees through the mask of her glamorous high society, that she learns of a plot that could come to destroy everything that she’s come to love. It’s only then that Jacqueline realizes she must decide who’s side she’s truly on.
