to zeus, ganymede was the prettiest of the mortals. so he did what anyone would do. he took the boy for himself. he abducted him and took him to olympus. on mount olympus, he was made immortal and became the wine pourer and cup bearer to the gods (all of which liked him and were overjoyed by the youth except hera). not to mention, he became a lover to zeus himself. to this day, that is still what ganymede does. he pours the wine for the gods and goddess with a smile.
