"Where have you been?" My mom, Stef, was folding laundry in the living room.

I walk over to her and Talya shut the door behind her, "Actually, Talya and I were at the park."

"Oh, well, Hi Talya, I haven't seen you in awhile."

Talya held my hand, "It's been too long!"

My mom raised her eyebrows, "Well, we're just about to eat dinner, you're welcome to stay if you'd like."

"Thanks, I'd love to." Talya walks into the kitchen but Stef calls me back.

"You and Talya?"

"Yeah, I don't know why we ever broke up."

"Brandon, is, um, is this because of Callie?"

"No! I don't have feelings for her anymore!" I walked into the kitchen.

"Hey Brandon," Talya came over and kissed my cheek.

Dinner was very awkward. Callie didn't talk at all. But Talya sure did, she wouldn't stop. Jesus and Mariana kept whispering about something, Probably something about Talya and I.

After dinner, everyone was up in their rooms and Talya and I sat on the couch in the living room.

"Ya know what I missed the most about you?" She inched closer and put her arms around my neck, "Your sweet lips."

She kissed me and I kissed back but I didn't feel like I did with Callie. I didn't feel the sparks.

I pulled away from her and threw my head in my lap, "I'm sorry, I just.. I can't do this." I ran my fingers through my hair.

She didn't say anything for a moment then she looked at the floor, "It's Callie, isn't it?"

"I wish I could get over her.. I mean, god knows she's over me." I stood up, "I'm so stupid!" I kicked the table next to the couch and the lamp fell off and broke.

"Brandon.. just sit down and relax."

I sat down and put my head in my lap again, "Why? Why doesn't she love me?" I felt tears form in my eyes.

She put her hand on my back which made me flinch, "She doesn't deserve you. She's trash."

I stood up, "Don't talk about Callie that way! She isn't trash!"

"Brandon-"

"No! Callie is the most amazing person I've ever met! And I will be in love with her until the day I die! Don't ever talk to me or her again!" I turned to walk away when I saw Callie and my moms standing there.

"I'm going to bed." I pushed past her and walked up the stairs.

"Brandon!" She called up the stairs, but ignored her.

I slammed the door behind me and laid down in my bed, hoping I didn't wake up.

"Jesus! Get out of my room!" I heard Mariana's voice from outside my door.

I groaned as I opened my eyes. I looked up at my alarm clock and it was 6:43am. Why are they up this early?

I got out of bed and walked into the hallway. Mariana ran into the bathroom as Jesus ran into his room.

"Why is everyone up this early on a Sunday?" I say to the empty hallway.

Lena walks up the stairs, "Because it's Monday."

Oh crap! I ran to my room and got changed. I ran downstairs and didn't see Callie or Jude. They must've left already. I try to avoid moms because of what happened last night.

I grabbed a banana and yelled for Jesus and Mariana, "If you want a ride to school, you have 20 seconds to get down here."

They both ran straight out to my car, after telling moms goodbye.

I opened the door, "Bye moms, love you."

"Oh Brandon, don't forget about your audition after school, your dad is gonna take you."

"What?" I whispered to myself as I closed the door behind me.

When we were on our way to school, Mariana spoke up from the back seat, "We passed Talya's street."

"Yeah, so?"

"Did you guys break up or something?"

"Yeah, like a year ago, yesterday was just a mistake.." I looked at her in my rear view mirror, "Hey, when did you dye your hair?"

"Wait, what are you talking about?"

"Your hair was blonde yesterday."

"Okay, well, you're going crazy and we always give Talya a ride to school."

"No, we don't."

What's going on?

I got out of the car and walked with Jesus to his first class, "Something weird is going on."

"What do you mean?" We walked past Mariana's friend, Lexi and Jesus checked her out.

"When did Lexi get back for Honduras?"

"Dude, what are you talking about?"

I didn't answer him so we walked in silence. He walked into his class when I heard Talya yelling my name.

She came running up to me, "I was late to school because of you!"

"What are you talking about?"

"You didn't pick me up!"

"Talya, I haven't given you a ride to school since we broke up."

She grabbed my shoulder and stopped walking, "You're breaking up with me?"

"We didn't get back together." I stormed off. I told her last night I didn't want to see her ever again.

Half the day has passed and I didn't see Callie anywhere. She wasn't in math or at lunch, maybe she stayed home sick.

I caught up with Mariana in the hallway, "Hey, have you seen Callie?"

"Who?"

"Ha ha, very funny."

She stopped walking and turned to me, "Who's Callie?"

"Ya know, she's about your height, wavy hair and she kinda lives with us."

"Brandon, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm just looking for Callie."

"There's no girl named Callie that lives with us." She looked at me like I was crazy.
