Chapter Three: Tate's Fisrt Night

Tate's Pov

Kayla and I sat in her.. no our room and talked most of the day. She told me about the chores we have to do every day, about the other kids here that are her friends, and the room at the end of the hall with all the supplies in it. We sat there and talked about that stuff all day. We sat there talking about that stuff and ourselves. I don't think either of us said any thing about how we got in here. We just talked all day, we didn't even go down to the mess hall to get something to eat. Neither of us had anything to eat at all today but we didn't care we just wanted to talk. I swear we talked for so long we didn't realize there was a fight right outside our door.

The mistress came up around 11:30 and said it was time to go to sleep. Kayla got up and went into her "dressing room " with our saying a word. She came out a few seconds later wearing pink peace sign pants and a blue and hot pinks shirt that said "BlOoD" across it. And her hair was out up into a pony tail. She look kinda cute, when she walked her pony tail swayed with sass and her pants were longer than her long legs. I got up and went to my bag, which I hadn't unpacked yet because we didn't do anything today but sit on the floor and talk, and grabbed my pjs. I looked around no knowing where to change. I was scared to do it in the middle of the room cause I had only just met Kayla. I looked around for a few more seconds then I looked at Kayla and she opened her curtain and she had a glimmer in her eye as she said " You can change in here today but tomorrow we'll try to make you a place to change K?" I looked at her and as I walked in I said "Sounds like a plan to me." I took my clothes off and changed into my pjs. I picked up my clothes walked out and set my clothes on the floor next to my bag. I was wearing my Halo sleep pants that had all the weapons on then as my Call of Duty Ghost shirt. As I go to climb onto my bed Kayla stops me by saying " I like your sleepwear. Those are great games." I look at her kinda dumbfounded that she liked those kinds games or any games at all. I try to say something but nothing comes out. She continues by saying" I'm a Master prestige in Ghost and a Legend in Halo Reach." I stared at her for a whole longer before saying " WOW!!! that's the most impressive thing I've ever heard a girl say." She looked at me and with a straight face she said " Hey I grew up with an older brother and I've learned how to play me some games." I started laughing and so did she. We climbed into bed and started to go to sleep. That's when the rain started.

God how i hated the rain. I laid there trying to go to sleep. I didn't want to tell Kayla that I was afraid of the rain, she might thing I was a total wimp ass. Kayla turns and looks at the wall then turns back over and asked me "Hey do you mind if I play a bit of music?" "Please do?" I say trying not to sound scared. She started the music which was rock and rolled onto her back. That's when the thunder started. Great my first night was turning out great. NOT!!!!

I laid there trying to sleep but I couldn't I was to scared. Well I might as well tell her. I should tell her before we become to good of roommates. "Ka..Ka... Kayla? Can I tell you something, please?" I said voice shaking. " Hmmm oh sure any thing Tate," she says sounding kinda tired. I sat there for a second and then said "Well, I'm kinda scared of thunder. Actually I am scared of thunder. It terrifies me!! I know it's weird for a 16 year old boy to be scared of thunder but I am and no matter what I do I can't fall asleep." There was silence for a few minutes then Kayla says "Get over here." I climb down my bed and stand next to her bed. "No up here next to me," Kayla says patting her bed. I climbed up there with her and she's laying on her side so I lay on my and all the sudden she puts her arm around me.

Kayla's Pov

I put my arm around him and pull him close. I threw my blanket over him and put my head next to his back. He turns over as faces me and says " why are you doing this? We only just met today and we're in the same bed together!!" i look at him and say " it's because your my friend and I don't have many friends. I don't care what people think I want you to like it here and not want to be adopted."

I looked at him and he looked at me. I could see through the dark that he was crying. I felt like I did something wrong. I didn't know what to say so I just ask him the first thing that came to my mind so I asked " What's wrong? Do you wanna go back to your bed?" He whimpered and said "I'm just happy I made a friend here and no I don't really wanna go back to my bed."

I looked at him and he looked at me. This went on for awhile. I got this sudden urge in my stomach to kiss him. I leaned forward and kissed him. Hard. On the lips. It was only for a few seconds tho. When I got done my cheeks went red I could feel it. I laid there kinda scared if he liked it or not. But I guess he must've because after a minute or so he leaned towards me and we started making out.
