"A $40,000 vase?" Ralph repeated. "It's not like it was made of gold."
"Actually, it was," I pointed out.
"And you two can't go to crime scenes anymore, PIs or not."
"Don't give me that look, I was just trying to speed up the process of finding this Meta, Allen, which is taking forever." Ralph told Barry.
"Wait, we got a hit." Iris said. "Jeanie Williams. Oh, wait, we got multiple hits."
"Jane Liska, Judy Newton."
"Fake IDs. No wonder it's taken so long." I stated.
"She's used like seventeen different aliases."
"Ok, so how do we find her."
"We can't just wait for her to rob somebody else."
"Well, we don't have to." Harry put the thinking cap on. "We have the many variations of her facade. Right, we simply plug these variations into the facial recognition software,"
"See if we get a hit." Joe finished.
"Exactly right."
"It took the thinking cap to come to that conclusion?" I questioned, quietly to Ralph as Harry pushed him out of the way.
"That's starting to come in handy, Harry."
"That's forty minutes ago, Corner of Orchard and Broome."
"Orchard and Broome? What's over there?"
"Not what," Ralph said, "Who." I furrowed my eyebrows"Come on. Come on."
~~~
"It smells like Liverworst." Barry pointed out as we stopped in front of a door.
"Yeah, wait till we get inside." Ralph replied, knocking on the door. "Open up!'
"Ok, stick to the plan. We question her, we find Null, we cuff her."
"Got it. A little good cop, bad cop action." Barry sighed. The door opened, revealing the sketchiest looking man I'd ever seen. I remembered him from Ralph's shape shifting rant. Immediately, his eyes started looking me over.
"Hello..." He said slowly. "Who the heck are you?" I looked up to see that Ralph was replaced with Joe.
"What the..." I trailed off.
"Your worst nightmare." He grabbed his jacket, pushing him back into the office.
"Joe..." Barry said, unsure of what else to say.
"Detective Joe West, CCPD, we got a couple of questions for you, scum bag."
"Hey, only my closest friends can call me that." The guy laughed, glancing at me. "Speaking of which...you look like the girl in the picture on a friend of mine's desk. You know Ralph Dibny?"
"Focus up," Ralph said, making him look at him again, "Word is, there's a new cut-purse in town who likes fancy jewels. Last seen in this part of town. PI Barry Allen,"
"PI Barry Allen," Barry repeated.
"Show him! Show him!"
"Oh, Barry Allen, I know all about you, Spectacular fall from grace. Tragic really. Just like your boyfriend Ralph Dibny there love."
"Ok, just have a look." Barry showed him the picture and I shot Ralph a look, shaking my head. He whistled.
"We're thinkin' she came here for help to wash the sparklies." Barry and I shared a look.
